Haven't listened to this album for years.. so so good!! Love it. Going to have to queue up a few quality albums that have been gathering dust 🙂

Mike Patton is such a good vocalist.

Thought I would just let Spotify run through for a bit. Onto Introduce Yourself now, need to think of a different band after that 🙂

You need Angel Dust next.

Then when you're FNM'ed out, might I suggest Screamager by Therapy?

I was once accosted by a goddist whilst wearing a FMN T-shirt he want to know why I was procaiming to have to faith. Anyway, my first Reading festival was the one with FNM where Patton started climbing the rigging, proper excellent show that was.

To be fair, that's hardly an isolated incident that narrows things down.

I love Mike Patton more than life itself...and Tool for that matter.

I loved Faith No More. I remember after he'd been booted Jim Martin went and did some solo stuff, and he was on the Radio 1 Rock Show (might have even been the Bruce Dickinson one), and had a band called Behemoth (not to be confused with the Polish Black Metal poppets of the same name).

They had a song called 'Old Man of the Sea', which I loved - I'd recorded the show, so I was happy I had it recorded to cassette. Yes, cassette, remember them? I went to listen it to one day, but my brother had recorded over the entire tape with some dance bollocks. Absolutely gutted, never been able to find that song again. 🙁

Actually, now I think about it, my brother also managed to wipe my Final Fantasy VII memory card, and taped over a proper VHS tape of Dark City with football. Pffft!

I too was a big FNM fan. I saw them at Sheffield Arena on the Angel Dust tour. Fantastic. They did that cover of 'Easy' and loads of people were going 'WTF is this??' I loved it. For the encore they came back on tellingly without Jim Martin and did a cover of Dead Kennedys 'Let's lynch the landlord'. Classic.

dig out their cover of 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us' along with Sparks.
Stunning.
I still love how straight their cover of Easy is

The Real Thing is pretty good but Angel Dust is the true apogee of FNM's output, it's an awesome album. I got to see them at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh a couple of years ago. I'd never managed to see them before they split up but the Corn Exchange gig was brilliant.

I always remember a review of Angel Dust I read in one of the music rags of the day. "It twists, it turns, it never takes the easy way out." It's the most accurate bit of music journalism I've ever read.

FNM are still my favourite band after all these years. and for me king for a day is the best of the lot by some way. it turns the darkness up a notch in every respect, it flows perfectly, the production is mint and every song is killer.

patton is the most talented vocalist their is in terms of range and showmanship.

I do like being reminded by thread like this of music I've listened to in the past, gunna dig some out.

I seemingly recall going to the NEC to watch Angel Dust.. I think it it was FNM... (we might have taken something illegal 😯 ), and half way through the concert the removable seat covers started being throw about, culminating in everyone, absolutely everyone throwing them @ the stage.. band was bombarded for a while (security having fit, but what could they do) and the band ended up rolling round on them having fun. Great concert...think it was FNM 😉

I saw them at the Tivoli Ballroom in Buckley in 88 or 89 when Chuck was still the singer. A great gig, I remember chatting to Billy the bass player, what a nice chap! I also though I'd witnessed something very special.

It didn't click for me when it was released, but listening to it more recently I've come to feel that it's got lots of good tracks on it, plus 3 that are really rather crap. Once I learned to skip them I found it improved greatly. 🙂

My first introduction to FNM was 'Epic' at the Poly Rock Nights. Still a fave song of mine all these years later.

+1 on Mike Patton being a good vocalist.

I also really like Falling to Pieces and Surprise You're Dead.

Saw them on the Angel Dust tour and again on the Reunited tour in Edinburgh a couple of years ago. A proper sweat box and they were even better the 2nd time around. I also have a bit of a man crush on Mike, as does my missus 😳

+1 for Angel Dust. Such a diverse album with amazing lyrics. Saw 'em live for that album tour too, Mike came out with the keyboardist (can't remember his name now), for a second encore when most people had left and did three more songs for the few who still remained. 😀
