Are some days cheaper than others? If so which ones?
I know when we went to canada, Wednesday night was more expensive, as it connected with a flight from delhi, cue the flight being full of petrol travelling to/from india.
Put it in google flights on their price matrix/date.
It changes, but Saturday and Tuesday has been good for us.
People.
The flight was full of people!!
if you go to Lastminute.com they have a really useful pricing matrix thing that shows how the different days compare (around the dates you initially put in. Very useful wee tool that i've used to save ££ in the past
kayak.co.uk mega matrix will tell you everything you need.
Tuesday.
you can get a whole month of fairs on most airlines and comparisons, I'd rather pay more attention to the connections, flight time and airline than chase a few quid on the ticket price though 8hrs into a shit flight on a crap plane having got up at a silly time to connect through an impossible connection £50 will seem like nothing.

Correct. Also, connecting flights are often cheaper than direct. For example, I recently did LHR-Dallas-Miami instead of direct, and saved about £1000. Tidy. Useful if you're not in a hurry. However, be sure to choose connecting airports carefully. As in, don't choose Chicago O'Hare. Ever. Even less so in winter.
As to days? Can depend on location. Tourist or business location?
Like all forms of transport, you pay more for convenience so busy routes will be more expensive and peak times as they try to fill more empty flights and balance the load across their network.
So if you’re not fussy when you travel there are significant savings to be made. I often flew business class to the Asia Pacific region with a Gulf carrier for several hundred pounds less than flying direct in Premium Economy with the usual carriers.
If it’s a short trip, make sure you’re staying over a Saturday night. Fares are *much* higher if you don’t (business travellers pay more!)
Also, bear in mind that upto £300 of the fare is made up of taxes, so there’s a lower end to the prices it’s not realistic to get below.
Destination makes a big difference to. I’m shooting in Moab and Utah in May and it’s half the price to fly to Denver direct than it is to go via Vegas.
Fly on September the 11th, they will basically give you flight for free 😉
(yes actually done this)
