So a knackered knee and self isolation has meant Mrs 100th says I need to sort the spare room/turbo room (never mind I'm working from home setting classwork).
Painting done but what about the floor?

Old pine floor boards but not in good nick. What to put down? Room will be used for turbos and other bike stuff (don't even start it's on the second floor) and occasional guest. Carpet? Wood laminate. I've lost the will to think so STW help. Just don't bankrupt me.

Carpet will deaden the sound of the turbo a bit better. Could drive her a bit mad otherwise.

Paving slabs.

Or laminate over some of that underlay stuff. Rubber matting for under the turbo.

Assuming you got decent saws and its mainly flat the laminate is a doddle.
Decent underlay makes it easier and will give a modicum of sound insulation ...
I like the 5mm selitac stuff (a bit more expensive but good for small surface imperfections)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Selit-70650-Selitac-Laminate-Underlay/dp/B004XZ8VJU/ref=sr_1_15?crid=1EFUHZ1MQKJLT&dchild=1&keywords=laminate+underlay+5mm&qid=1602146976&sprefix=laminate+underlay%2Caps%2C150&sr=8-15

With a decent drill and holesaw you can make matching radiator pipe covers from offcuts and then using a sharp knife cut the width to a few mm.

Get a pack of those foam jigsaw tiles from halfords and claim you've "remodeled" the room as a yoga studio and turbo room.

£30 and 10 mins, sorted.
