My 45 min flight is currently delayed by 3 hours
I've been given a £3 food voucher which considering I will now get to my hotel (dinner paid for) until probably around 11pm,so too late for food seems a bit lame (cheapest cardboard and cheese sandwich here costs £4.50!!)
I understood you can now claim compensation if delay is more than 3 hours, anyone know for sure or have experience of claiming successfully?
(The people on the gate here are playing dumb when asked about it)

Failing that anyone fancy helping me pass the time with a game of eye spy?
I spy with my little eye something beginning with A......

Dunno, mine was delayed 4 hours last week, got a fiver food voucher that got me a boots meal deal (sarnies, crisps, drink, chocolate), apart from missing 6 hours of my holiday and having to drive all night it wasn't such a chore.

They should provide you with food and drink, I'd complain about the £3 voucher not being enough or buy a meal and keep the receipt to claim back later

over 3 hours and you can claim up to €600 depending on how far the flight is, they have a get out though if it's because of bad weather etc.

I fly (frequently) and when delayed buy a meal then write to the airline and claim. Depending on airline they want bank details and then send the money across. Even did this when there was food put on in a hotel - there was nothing I liked so went to nearby place. As long as you are not taking the pee the airlines seem fair.

Well after just short of 3 hours we all board the plane, sit there for 20 mins pilot comes on they cant start engines so have missed the take off slot, next one promised by flight control in Brussels??? Is at 10pm (another 2 hours) bit we can't let you off, we are negotiating and enjoy the 38degree heat because with no engines or back up we have no air con, but air hostess will be round with a thimble full Of warm water in about 10 minutes!!
Finally in air at 9pm, over 4 hours late, in hotel by 11.30. Not bad really, wish I didn't have that cheese sandwich though, I'll have nightmares tonight now and I could do with a gOod nights sleep to make sure I'm fresh for giving BMI a nice phone call tomorrow
