I'm trying to get back into riding but Ive put a ton of weight on and I'm quite conscious of it. Ive got baggy clothes to wear on the mtb but not for the road bike which I really want to use to lose weight.
So whats the FLAB clothing like? Is it worth the money? Any alternatives?

Tia, Naffa

I've had a set of their bib shorts for about 4 years now I think and have no complaints.
Uae them purely for mtb

Why not wear your mtb clothes on your road bike?

There are lots of semi fitted options available that aren’t super skin tight. Lots of “gravel” clothing is smarter and a bit more fitted than mtb stuff but not super tight.

I got a pair of winter bib tights, and a thermal/windproof zippy jacket thing from them last autumn. I think they are both superb - jackety thing is amazing, covers a huge range of conditions.

I have some it's good stuff, you might want to look at some of the less tailored Endura stuff too, in my opinion it just has the edge over Fat Lad.

I've spent the last two years as a FLAB brand ambassador, so I'm biased, but I've had shorts and tops from them for over 4 years, not the cheapest but great quality and fit.

FLAB stuff is great, and especially as they don't assume all cyclists are skinny, they do real people sizes.

Yes, sizing is pretty accurate compared to many others.

Stock levels can be an issue - easy to forget it's a small company, only 4 staff.

Moobs, beer gut etc?

I'm a bit surprised by the sizing - 36" chest min and 28" waist min. Strange starting points for fat lads?

The brand is about providing decent kit for everyone, regardless of size. Richard, the founder, is certainly no longer a Fat Lad.

But it's usually the smaller sizes left in the sales, for any skinny whippets wanting a deal

I've found decathlon MTB jerseys are good for a more relaxed fit but still with pockets on the back. Pretty cheap too.

Why has it got such a godawful name then?
