So, I bought the Dyson (please see my other post if you wish to discuss that matter further 🙂 ) after all and now want to try and fix the docking station and literally the only viable place is what seems to be a hardboard partition in the downstairs "office" (toilet, but it's where I do most of my best work). First world problems etc etc.
Question now is, how to fix to hardboard? With the Dyson attached it will be reasonably hefty although could remove the vaccuum head I guess.
Googling turns up this sort of thing:Â https://www.toolstoday.co.uk/plasplugs-dr-hollow-door-fixings?
Would that work or is there a better solution? Many thanks fixerists of STW! 😉
I'd put a 'plank' of wood or panel up and screw it to whatever the hardboard is attached to and then attach the Dyson to that.
I as going to suggest the same as wwaswas, though you might get away without screwing into uprights and just glue then screw your board to the hardboard partition. Could be neater, or just stain/paint/varnish a full plank as suggested and make a feature (hang brushes/dust pans/etc from it.
