So I am pretty angry. I cancelled the SSE boiler cover, a fortnight ago as we were going to switch to cover through my missus work. There was a qry around a homeserve policy (for something else) so she didn't do it.
Guess what. The *** boiler has stopped working. 16 days out of cover. Not at all happy.
No error codes, watching the live information codes, looks like its igniting okay and stays lit for a few seconds then goes out. on both heating and water. From the sound of it I reckon the fan might have packed up, but my experience of repair companies in the past is they tend to chuck parts in and charge you for the privaledgee till one of them works.
Its a 7 year old valiant ecotech 831.
Last time this something broke I went with SSE for £75 fixed price plus the annual contract (which I just cancelled....)
Any others similar worth considering?
