Despite a good start, I think someone needs a stern work with themself.
Cheap white bread

breaded fish fingers
ketchup.
large fish and peas has just been despatched here..... 8)
i drizzle a bit of Jif lemon on the fish fingers
Ciabatta? CIABATTA?!!!!! …. with posh tartare sauce? TARTARE SAUCE?!!!! Tomatoes? TOMATOES?!!!!

Aldi fish fingers and short date 9p asda baps ftw here.
Cheap white bread
Fish fingers
Kraft cheese slice
Tomato Ketchup
That is how its done. Even cutting the bread in half should be considered wrong. Eat it proporly.
Cheese? CHEESE?!?! Are you sure? That way madness lies....
Cheese? CHEESE?!?! Are you sure? That way madness lies....
Tell me about it. Such was binners conviction in putting cheese in that I actually tried it.
Waste of a cheese slice if you ask me.
Don't knock it tip you've tried it pondo. Not proper cheese though. Has to be a cheeses single, that melts over the fish fingers
Cheese? WFT! Talk about over egging the pudding...........
Well heaven knows I'm an open-minded sort so I'm prepared to give it a go. But I'll need to have a good long sitdown beforehand. If I don't pull through - farewell friends, adieu adieu! 🙁
Heinz tomato soup and a cheese toastie for dipping for me and the boy... 😀

You sir, are a genius! That sounds like such a match made in heaven, I can't believe I've never tried it!
Tomato ketchup on fishfinger sandwiches!! 😯
ummmm, yes
Didn't have to be Sherlock Holmes considering the other ingredients.
My wife always gets them from Ocado, even though I tell her I prefer Lidl ones (with Heinz ketchup, lettuce, butter and sliced white bread).
CHEESE!!! Now I've seen everything.
Will be giving that a go this weekend me thinks. Will report back if I die and get better.
Scrap the cheese, get some sweet chilli sauce in there. Winning.
Tomato ketchup on fish finger sandwiches? Wrong wrong wrong.
On the subject of tomato soup, I like a tin of Heinz in a deep bowl with chunks of cheese thrown in. A nice Cheddar is good or for a real gloopy lunchtime treat lob in some cubes of Brie.
Nope, cheese is needed
The reappearance of fish fingers in my life is proving to be one of the biggest highlights of fatherhood so far.
"Would you make him tea dear?" - "Why yes darling, I'll do Fish Fingers" the nipper can usually manage about 4-5, so a minimum of 8 go under the grill every time.
Waste not want not.
Yet another fish finger thread with no mention of a fried egg, you have all failed miserably.
Don't knock it till you've tried it....
I'm with johndoh on this. Ketchup is for meat based products such as bacon and sausages or on a good old fried egg sandwich. Fish requires salad cream.
Brown sauce for meat, ketchup for fish or chips with no related meat product. Fish fingers are designed to be eaten in the quantity they are packaged in.
To be fair to the OP, a firm structure such as the C*****a permits a degree of hollowing out and thus the fingers can be laid on edge, meaning a far better fish to bread ratio. That's a whole difference thing to a FF sarny though. Cheap white bread, melting butter and traffic light amber breadcrumbs FTW.
Ketchup or ideally the ubiquitous 'red sauce' that greasy spoon cafe sell. Cheaper the better.
I am ambivalent about cheese.
Up yours you bunch of snobby anti-snob bawbags.
I going to buy the finest most expensive unethical Cod I can find, make my own poncy ciabattas. Bread crumb the most expensive bread I can find.
Nyom Nyom Nyom
I'll use Heinz ketchup mind you.
Ketchup with sausages? Are you out of your mind? It's brown sauce only for bangers!!
There are 2 exceptions to this rule:
1. Hot dogs
2. Those packed of little ready-cooked cocktail sausages, which have to be eaten in multiples of 10, with a bowl of ketchup to dunk them in
baby seahorse fingers?
Ketchup is the Devil's food.
Until now it had to be brown sauce but will give the tartare sauce a try.
Baby Seahorses FTW
I bet they're right crunchy.
Can't believe no-ones mentioned mayo yet!!!
Ketchup one side and mayo the other!
Will have to try a cheese slice as well now tho...
Hot dogs have to have a combination of cheap tomato sauce and even cheaper yellow mustard on them.
Oh man two of my favourite [s]childhood[/s] snacks.
White bread fish finger sarny with ketchup.
Heinz Tom soup and a couple of cheese Breville's.
F'kin WIN
Mayo with a fresh lime squeezed into it for the win.

Not Royal Mail, they would class that as Dangerous(ly filling) and sell it on ebay.......
Just made one after remembering this thread, chucked a potato waffle in there too 8)
Thick white batch loaf, loaded with fish fingers - and can either be tartare, or salad cream.
No ketchup, no HP (my favourite sauce), no nonsense!
this hjas got the hallmarks of theregisters bacon sandwich debate all over it.
I'm staying clear after my suggestion of adding Guacamole to it caused a stink
Mine has:
Fresh multi seed granary from the bakers up the road.
Tartare sauce, currently Colmans. Have tried posher but it seemed to be 50% oil.
5 fish fingers, normally birds eye
Layer of cheese. Currently manchego 🙂 this goes on during cooking so it melts 😉
Tomato ketchup. Has to be tiptree, as inferior sauces just soak into the bread.
I did go through an experimental phase with vegetables, but they always had an adverse affect on the whole.
Vegetables?!!!! What kind of a monster are you?!!!
I've always loved a fish finger sandwich and noticed recently that they are on the menu in The Cricketers pub in Dorking.
Being an expert, I'd confirm fresh white bread cut medium thickness, butter and that's all!
Yum!!
Vegetables?????
WTF????
Hahahahhahhahaha!

Why on earth anybody has even bothered to comment further after the above divine words of wisdom is beyond me.
The rest of you need to take a long, hard look at yourselves in a mirror.
Crusty white rolls, home made fish fingers, ketchup, mushy peas.
Enjoyable tea tonight.
Why has no-one mentioned that mushy peas must be eaten with mint sauce?
I think the vegetables were an attempt at a balanced diet. My skin had started to turn crispy and orange 🙁
To recap:
White sliced bread, fish fingers and salad cream.
White sliced bread, bacon or sausages, HP brown sauce.
Fish & chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce if you are being posh.
Tomato ketchup should be banned and / or only available in America for Americans. It has no place in a sandwich or near fish & chips.
Anything else is wrong. End of thread.
