The beer is free and nice
The food is free and nice
The air con is set right
The tv is showing beach volleyball but it's mens.
Why is life so unfair

*Checks to see if/when they're in ADL*

EDIT:

*Finds out they're tonight and there are still tickets*

EDIT again:

*Wonders if pregnant MrsZ would mind if I arrange for her to drive us there*

No need to. My fear of batshitcrazypregnantwoman outweighs my desire to see Ash, so I'll just put 1977 on the hifi instead

This is what happens when you give Australians the internet, folks.

Shouldn't you lot be voting, or something?

I can't, and I doubt mike can. We're residents, not citizens. Outcasts of the political system, and whores to their pay, lifestyle, great weather and beautiful beaches. (and surprisingly good beer and whisky).

released from captivity (jetstar) now and the qantas freebies.

Would think of popping back for Ash but might try and get some boarding in tomorrow instead

Well, work is sending me to Geelong on sunday & then I'll be driving through the Otways to Warrnambool.
Without stopping to sample the excellent trails there.
Oh well, I'm taking the Great Ocean Road on the way back to the plane & I rented a Golf instead of a Kia.

umm I thought residents could vote. My dad was a resident for the best part of 50 years and he voted. Never took citizenship. Maybe you just need to register? or perhaps there are different types of "resident"?

edit: ahhh just looked it up "British subjects who were on the electoral roll before 26 January 1984 are also allowed to vote."

Well, this is the second election I've had to sit through the gash campaigning without having any say in it.

My guess is there are many different types of residency visa, but all my colleagues are on the same as me and can't vote

you actually want to go and see Ash?
Tim Wheeler was an appalling live singer 20 years ago, I can't imagine he's got any better. Has he?

Technically I'm a permanent resident.
But there's no-one here worth voting for, so I'll pass.

3 1/2 years till I can have 2 passports - thats mostly to avoid the long queue at immigration.
I feel your pain John can't you just take the bike and the hire car breaks down, in forrest?

Still next weeks work trip might make up for it as it includes Rotorua 🙂

That's not fair Mike.
I could take the bike & hit Forrest on the way back, but I really want to drive the Great Ocean Road. 3 cameras & a tripod is slightly easier to travel with.
