I was meant to be going to my first post-Covid gig last week - Porridge Radio at Hebden Trades Club - cancelled at the last minute as most of the band tested positive for Covid. Bugger! 😢

I technically still play gigs for a living. Last week my February theatre dates got cancelled. Today my first March one got cancelled. Tbf October is shaping up really nicely, just need to survive until then 😂

I'm supposed to be going to London twice in March, for the Hold Steady and then for Hundred Reasons and Hell Is For Heroes, we're now at the point of having to book accomodation even though there's got to be a pretty good chance of it all getting cancelled but I'm damn well not going to be the one to call off... Seems seriously unlikely that the government will cancel it unless the wheels completely come off, but bands and promoters seem to take covid more seriously than elected officials.

Was supposed to see Bob Mould in Bristol last Friday but he wisely decided not to tour Plague Island at this time.
He’s back in June hopefully but the Bristol date is a Monday night which isn’t handy for this Pembrokeshire resident!

Had tickets for Black Country New Road too, last time they postponed I decided I didn’t like them anymore and got a refund. So was quite surprised to get a message that I’d be getting my money back. Don’t know what it was about them that I liked originally, can’t stand their latest stuff. Oh well 😄

My lot had a small festival booked for next w/e, suddenly cancelled.
Start of covid was the most tickets I've had in pocket in my life, so many really good gigs, all cancelled.

Had Frank Turner tickets for January 18 and that was pulled quite early. A certain synchronicity if it had happened as we last saw him in February 2020 just before lockdown 1.

Sorry to hear that Tom.

I missed my first gig of the year last weekend, my other half tested positive on the day, and I didn’t want to mix ‘till I’d had a few days of negative tests. Just been in contact with the band to buy a few things to support them in another way.

All my most recent gigs have gone ahead as planned, there were a few earlier ones that were postponed for a later date.
Howling Bells was the last one, my next, IIRC, is Goldfrapp.

Did a good run late last year, including going out as photographer for a short tour and finishing up with a nice Christmas gig. It is super rare that is do January gigs, but currently waiting for my first gig of the year to be cancelled due to travel issues for the band! Brazilian band touring Europe…

Bug Club happened, and I'm very glad it did. Excellent, in a proper small indie venue

Cat empire booked for march 2020 got postponed then cancelled and now the band have split.
Also had queen with Adam Lambert in June 2020 pushed back to 2021 then 2022. Same with green Day although I think they were originally booked for 2021 and pushed back the once.

I caught Covid at the last gig I went to (Idles @ Brixton) if that makes you feel better.

I've seen Black Country New Road twice, once at the dome in Tufnell park (The attached pub was selling Guiness for £3.85!!! pre covid anyway) and again last autumn in Electric ballroom. such a good band, and I hope Issac (The singer) gets better as judging by the band's statement he wasn't in a good place.

Had Frank Turner tickets for January 18 and that was pulled quite early.

My wife got me tickets for Xmas for the Feb 14th local gig - 10 minutes walk away, in a good small venue. I was really looking forward to it. He cancelled the tour less than a week before Xmas, which left me with no present (aww!) and my wife out of pocket because the booking fee wasn't refunded. (Only out of pocket to the tune of a bottle of wine, but I'd rather have drunk that bottle of wine than offer charity to a bleeding ticketing company.)

Frank T posted how sad he was to cancel, and how his road crew and band have had such a hard time that he had set up a Justgiving thing to raise money for them. I might have been more sympathetic if I had not just lost my Xmas present (awww!) while handing over money at the same time. To make matters worse, the gig could have gone ahead. (It must be a nightmare being involved in gigs at the moment - my sympathy has returned somewhat.)

I was due to see Frank Turner in Edinburgh in January - cancelled.
I was due to see Bob Mould in Glasgow in January too - rescheduled to June.
The Hold Steady in London are my next gigs, followed by Tori Amos in Glasgow, both in March. Let's see what happens with them.

Supposed to be seeing Doves in March. Originally cancelled twice because of the Covids, now cancelled permanently due to Jimi Goodwin's health.
Great shame all round.

We were dead lucky in Holmfirth to get Bastille's first post-lockdown gig at the Picturedrome as part of the The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour. Subsidised too - £20 for 2 tickets!! It wasn't cancelled, it was ace, and they appeared to be having a great time!

Got tickets for Ritual Union festival in Bristol which is on it's second re-arranged date having originally been in spring 2020.

Multi-venue 1 day festival. Tickets are still available online but there's not a peep out of any of the promotors on whether it is going ahead or not, whether the line-up has changed etc and one of the venues (the biggest of the three by some distance) has burned down in the meantime meaning all other gigs there have been relocated.

Plus several of the headliners have dates elsewhere in the world on the day of/before it's supposed to take place...

I went to see The Smile on Saturday.

It's Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwoods new band.

Amazing setup in the round for about 1000 people.

Little snippet here for anyone interested...
