Looking at purchasing first 'big' bike soon so just after a few recommendations.
Really want a Triumph Street Triple 675 but decided I'm going to wait a bit for that one and buy one that's a couple of years old in a couple of years (so one that's new today in a couple of years!). Liking the naked style but would look at semi naked!
Preferably 500cc plus as want to keep for a couple of years and want to enjoy it, bored of my 125 now. Looking to spend £3.5k max
Thanks
I had an ER6 - well within your budget and a very capable bike
is the standard answer not a SV 650? Plenty fast enough, torqey, good handling. Never ridden one myself tho.

This looks like a bit of a laugh, easy to look after and in budget: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201707207573724

Just get an older Street Triple. I did. I also prefer the look of the older one. Like the round eyes.
🙂
It's a brilliant first bike. I've had it since June, and have done over 3000 miles.
Handles better than I can ride, has more power than I will ever need, and is the biggest buzz in the world.

I took my test, passed, went straight to Fowlers in Bristol and bought a 955i triumph. I am still alive.
My mate is having a lot of good things to say about the MT-09...
I like the look of the MT07, there's one for sale near me in the colour I want and I'm trying to resist a visit to the dealers.
I had an SV650s as my first bike. Traded it in for a Street Triple R
SV650 is very forgiving, but to be honest so is a Street Triple. It's very easy to ride, but it's a fair chunk faster. As long as you're sensible it should be a good shout
Thanks for replies, the usual suspects apart from the bmw racer which just looks too scary!!
Benp1 and tootallpaul....thanks for convincing me to let my heart rule my head, loved the look of the triple since i set eyes on it, i now know i would yearn for one if i went for any of the above which im sure would do the job just fine!
Thanks again, triumph it is!
No problems. It was the folk of this forum that persuaded me to try the Triumph.
