Regarding your location. The rescue service are using what 3 words now.
Sometimes on a mountain you won't have a phone signal but the app will work with GPS. Work out your 3 words, then ride to somewhere with a phone signal and tell the emergency sevvices the 3 words.

Sorry, slight hijack - I've got 'Three Words' anyone know how to stop iPhone achieving unused apps on a app by app basis? I just know that one time I need it I'll have 1 bar of 3G and I'll have to wait an hour for it to pissing update before I can use it.

Or do the same with OS locate and give a very accurate Grid Reference with less opportunity to mispronounce / mishear a word
Last I checked mountain rescue were NOT using what 3 words and far preferring a OS GR
I think what3words can send your location as a text message to the emergency services, and a text takes a lot less signal than a phone call.

Ever tried to give a grid reference over a mobile phone while its blowing a gale? I think I'd rather give 3 words myself.
The point is, use what ever you prefer or feel comfortable with. It doesn't matter as long as it works. Hopefully youll never need it.
