You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Just wondered what people's experiences are of fireproof document bags/safes are?
Just looking for fireproof-ness not security - as unless you spend £1000s I bet most small safes could be cracked with an angle grinder.
One thing I've noticed on Amazon is they are great at telling you what external temperatures they can withstand, but not what the internal temperature would be. The case may survive but if the documents are heated to 100's of degrees would that be enough to damage documents inside the bag?
Watching this one with interest.
I've bought fire blanket material from this place for work projects.

Made in UK and they were pretty helpful so can probably show you some test results / demo videos.
We were looking for a fireproof safe at work. One thing to check as well is how waterproof it is as well.
We have a couple of Yale fireproof safes at home, just for keeping bank statements, passports etc in them. Their main purpose if to prevent identify theft if someone breaks in, we also keep the spare keys in there, if someone bricks a window to get in, they'll have to climb out the same window to get out as all the doors deadlock and the only spare keys are in the safe.
Whilst you can crack them fairly easily the average heroin addict looking for money for his next fix won't be able to. My parents were broken in to and they took their fire safe (which wasn't bolted down) into the garden and attacked it with tools from their shed. Barely scratched the paint work! It was recovered intact and still in use today.
If you're worried about waterproofness you could add rubber seals to the door - type of things you get for draft excluding external doors etc. My passport has been through the wash a few times and still fine, so I'm not that bothered.
I have a safe in the garage filled with old copies of singletrack. It’s not hidden and it’s not bolted down.
My logic is that it may serve as a decoy should the worst happen and anyone gets in
