Bit of a random one, this. We could do with a couple of rolls of Graham & Brown Twist 101428 (beige/gold). Decorator suggested it might be worth putting an ad out on FB as sometimes people have an odd roll lying about, but it appears putting 'wanted' ads up results in them being pulled.
Anyone any suggestions what to do?
Back when people like my grandparents used wallpaper for entire rooms rather than a "feature wall," they'd buy an extra roll. The cupboard over the wardrobe in my childhood bedroom was packed with the things.
Their reasoning wasn't just that a pattern might be discontinued but that there would be variations between batch runs. So you do your room in "Twist 101428" from batch E7 or what have you, then realise you need more so go back to the store but the same paper is now in stock from batch G4 and the shade of gold is slightly different. (Plus, obviously, this ignores UV fading if you're planning on patching up 20-year old paperwork.)
TL;DR - in the long run you might be better off just redecorating.

This thought had occurred, wife is keen to explore patching first (as it's the hall, stairs and landing).
I'd heard you needed to buy the same batch too...
We had a problem with a piece of discontinued wallpaper that needed replacing due to a damp spot which was fixed. I found a roll on eBay which matched very nicely. Perhaps we were lucky.

When I was growing up we had a puppy who's teething phase involved chewing a section of the longest drop of wallpaper in the hall/staris/landing. My dad caught him in the act and managed to wrestle the scraps of wallpaper out his mouth and rather than redecorating carefully reconstructed and restored the chewed section like a National Gallery conservator.
If it's just flat wallpaper maybe just get some photos and have some printed specially? Probably harder to match with embossed ones. Not sure how accurate the colour matching will be but paint I've had matches has been very good.
