We sold the mrs' MX5 a few years ago and she has always regretted it. Is it possible to track down a particular vehicle via the DVLA or similar?

DVLA will provide keeper details on request in certain circumstances. This wouldn't be one of them though. Im fairly sure that it would breach data protection laws.

The autocheck website wouldn't (shouldn't) give personal keeper details out. It will just give history (insurance claims etc/finance details)

Breach of data protection was my thought. I'd prefer an S2000 anyway.

Why does it have to be the same car? Plenty of MX5s about (and they are an inanimate object!)

Woman's prerogative.

You can easily find out if the car is currently insured or taxed (and date of expiry) which will give you at least an indication of whether it's still on the road or been scrapped.

Just discovered that my first car and all round prized posession which I greatly regret selling has been exported.

Not sure how I feel about that - keep hoping I'll be able to buy it back one day! Wonder where it's buggered off to?

I'm pretty damned sure that of all the cars I've owned, only the last one is probably still in existence. All the previous ones cost less than £500...
The last one was a W-reg Puma, so possibly still around. I really wish I still had it, just couldn't afford it. 🙁

I know a dodgy Bizzie in GMP who might find out such information for a "favour". He may already have posted in this thread.

A W reg puma will have the rear arches and probably half of the rear quarters missing by now!
