Hot fuzz surely wins most legends of the big screen in one film?

All star cast does not equal great film, just a great payday for those involved.

Continuing the Tarrantino theme, both Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained have strong casts.

Oceans Eleven, original and the remake, have big casts too.

They are so often shit you have to wonder why.

Take a look at A Bridge too Far, The Outsiders, The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Pearl Harbour, BlackHawk Down, Goodfellas, Sin City, Boogie Nights...

The Blues Brothers didn't have too many nobodies.

Longest Day surely?

Some of them quite ridiculous, like John Wayne playing someone half his age. and some of them quite remarkable, like Richard Todd having been there on the day.

True about Tarantino. The Coen Brothers don't struggle to attract lots of big names. I guess there are some writers/directors that most actors are keen to work for.

Red is another with a big name cast.

There's also the 90 minute action cheese fest that is The Expendables (2, 3...)

I don't recall John Wayne in Hot Fuzz.

I know it's a bit low brow, but Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr, Nick Nolte and Tom Cruise.

Sid James is worth ten of your Tom Cruise any day.

Glengarry Glenn Ross has a small but pretty perfectly formed all star cast: A Pacino, J Lemmon, A Baldwin, K Spacey, E Harris, A Arkin and J Pryce.

Even if you just tried to get those still alive, filming Dogma now would be a rather expensive undertaking.

As JimJam said: A Bridge Too Far. Apparently casting so many stars in it was deliberate to try to help the audience keep track of which military units were where...

Love true romance. Mate walked down the isle to hans zimmers "your so cool" from this film. All the 90s tarintinos were full of top actors, pulp fiction probobly the highest profile.

They did it for low rates, except for John Wayne. In fact Richard Burton and Roddy McDowall did it for nothing. They were filming Cleopatra at the time, but were bored due to delays. They begged for their roles, which were filmed in a day.

One of the more recent ones with a huge, superb cast. Acquired taste but a proper good film.
