My glasses prescription is:
Sph Cyl Axis
R +0.5 -1.25 15
L +0.25 -1.5 160
Yet....My contact lens trial is +0.25 -1.25 180...[b]FOR BOTH EYES[/b]!!
It's freaking me out, man!!

Is it cos the spectacles lens is further away from yous eyeball?
Basically one eye is physically larger than the other. This creates differing distance from the eye to the lens, hence different prescriptions are needed. This variation in focal lengths is negated, by the lens being applied directly to the eye.*
*I just made all that up.
Optics of contact lenses are slightly different, due to no air gap between the lens and eye, I think.
Haven't actually tried this myself, but in theory this link lets you enter your prescription and get the best match contact lens prescription:

I have had the same thing with trial lenses, yes they are different than your specs plus as trial lenses they give you the closest ones they have to what you need and when you decide to have them properly they give you the exact ones you need.
