Tomorrow, Tesco are launching a lasagne sandwich.

WTF is that all about?

1. It sounds disgusting.

2. Haven't we got enough fat people already in this country without putting this sort of shite on sale for two quid?

Pasta in a sandwich. Sorry but I can't believe the biggest supermarket in the UK is endorsing this shit.

Oh - see you at HIT THE NORTH 2.0 on Saturday.

Sounds good to me. How is a lasagne sandwich worse than a lasagne and chips with parmesan and ketchup?

That's just what it's for though. It's not a culinary delicacy unless your poor or homeless.

As a carbohydrate junkie pasta and bread in a handheld snack form sounds fantastic, in fact why did it take so long?

I normally toast some bread, sprinkle some herbs and cheese, then stick lasagne on top, so almost there, can't see whats wrong with the sandwich, unless it was cold.

I wonder if the Lasarnie will be only launched in Tescos southern branches, as part of their "Finest Range"
......... maybe the chip butty will be on sold as part of their "Value Range" in their northern stores ? 💡

I used to have lasagne sandwiches when i worked in a youth hostel kitchen, they are FANTASTIC.

A friend of mine used to make supernoodle sandwiches, i wasn't so keen on those.

Cold lasagne in a sandwich....BARFFFF !

Lovely hot Lasagne after stuffed mushrooms in La Fiorentina in Glasgow..YUMMMM !

Though to be honest i cant stand any cold pasta.

But Tesco shall prevail and have us all complying. ( soon to feature in the Dr Who xmas special no doubt).

I'd eat one of those double downs, but only if it was chicken fried steak 🙂 Always wondered why that hasn't made it over here.

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/872888/Tesco-releases-Lasagne-sandwich.html

Why all the 'wtf?' and 'why?' statements? No one is forcing you to buy one, it's not going to be on the menu at the school your kids go to, it's a publicity stunt and is aimed at people who like to eat crap food.

I don't see how it can be any worse than any other s**t that comes in a prewrap packet from a chain store. I can't really see the fuss, it's a sandwich from a supermarket.

I was dragged into Iceland the other day (apparently the milk is cheap) by the gf and to make the experience more interesting I played a game I call the "what's the most disgusting thing you can find" game. While perusing the wares I stumbled across the culinary delight that is the frozen chiken tikka lasagne.....can anyone beat that?

We can thank cheap convenience foods supplied by the supermarkets for the increasing morbid obesity epidemic.

There are a lot of active people who think they can eat this sort of rubbish in the belief they are going to burn off the calories, but they are wrong.

Those who indulge themselves with too much of this can expect an early grave.

Just tried it. It was alright - tastes like a bit of cold lasagne in between two slices of white bread. Could have done with a bit more lasagne to honest, just a bit of bolognese, one slice of pasta and cheese sauce the other side.

The fact remains that no one has to buy this crap, if people didn't buy them then they wouldn't sell them, maybe these won't sell and they'll be a short lived shelf item.

Let's be responsible for our own actions and not blame the government or Tescos for the choices we make.

Sounds horrid, cold pasta on claggy white bread? blurgh!

why would you eat it cold? Hot pizza sandwich my friend! (cold pizza though is still great, just not in a sandwich)

and chicken lasagne is just wrong, I'd prefer a vegi one first (and then I'd have to be damned hungry).

'proper' lasagne has chicken livers in actually - just not in the Americanised version we usually eat here. 🙂

I was visiting one of our offices and saw someone with his lunch roll and asked if that really was a scotch pie in there. No he said, lifting the top to reveal a complete pie supper.

Magic, I'm sure the Earl would have approved.

Given its coming from Tescos it will be crap and tasteless,,,, I'd rather have a normal lasagna with garlic bread 😀

I saw those Candwiches on The Colbert Report last week. Sheer genius! Shame the main investor has just been nicked for putting all his clients money into Candwiches instead of reality as he told them.

Well the Tesco i work in, had 2 cases on monday sat on the shelf all day monday, tuesday and i promptly threw them down the compactor at 22:00 couldn't sell them reduced to 10p! no one was interested. Won't be having those in again, cost me too much money!

What absolute rubbish mate. No evidence to back that up at all. Lasagna is a pasta casserole. Fact. Other than the base elements of layered pasta and cheese and usually some kind of ragu, it's a free for all. what a tastey tastey dish it is.

LMT - I've seen it with my own eyes a shelf full of them all day. Oops!
