Recently I have driven past quite a few new Ferrari's, and to be honest been very under whelmed by them.

This morning at some traffic lights I saw a yellow thing, and my actual reaction was have Nissan / Toyota brought out a new sports car? Only when I looked at the badge could I tell it was a Ferrari.

IMO a Ferrari should look special and different, not just average. Certainly in years gone by at least Ferrari's looked different, even if you didnt agree with the styling.

And whats with all the different models too 🙁

Couldn't disagree more!

Followed a blue F12 home last night for about 5 miles. Huge road presence, dynamic edgy lines and what a sound from that 730bhp naturally aspirated V12. Just a monster.

I know, each time I'm looking for a new road car they just seem so bland, so Euro box.
I wanted a 458 but ended up with a golf instead because I just couldn't tell them apart.
I'm getting a Zonda next time I tell you!

Sounds like you need to head to the Skoda dealer and get an Octavia vRS......they're like a Zonda. But with a bigger boot.

I think they look amazing especially driving around their natural habitat of central London in first at around 18 MPH.

At least it gives you time to look at them properly. 😉

F12 looks fantastic.

Agreed - the thing has HUGE road presence (literally and metaphorically).

California - not too outrageous but it's not meant to be; still a great looking sports car
458 - looks stunning
FF - not the prettiest car in the world but still has Ferrari 'presence'
F12 - Stunning. Just stunning.
LaFerrari - if you say this thing isn't Ferrari-like then I think we might be looking at difference cars

And ALL of them sound incredible.

Done.

I followed a Lamborghini Aventador off the A3 the other day.
That certainly didn't look or sound like a Toyota.
So over the top but also the most awesome car I think I've ever seen.

F12 looks fantastic.

It looks OK (and if someone wants to give me one I won't say no), but I'd be hard pushed to differentiate between an F12 and a red Aston Martin Vanquish. It lacks... something?

And the photo up there (posted by nickewen) is backwards.

To me the F12 looks purposeful, nothing flashy for the sake of it. I like Ferrari's ethos of taking away for aero rather than adding. FF looks like its smiling, but otherwise ok, 458 looks razor sharp.

The one nickewen posted looks like a Toyota (but I don't expect they GAF what I think).

There's no engine 🙁

When did Ferraris become hot hatches? Can't say I'm a fan.

OP I have to say I disagree. The current range is pretty special. I've just started living in central London and see quite a few about, amazing to think how many are parked on the street ! If I had such a car I'd be so OCD I couldn't bear to park it outside.

It's such a shame the best looking car Ferrari produced only had a little V6.

I disagree, the current production models are the strongest they have been for a while. I thought the F430 wasn't sharp enough and the 458 looks sharp, modern and pretty.

Op can you be specific on which car you saw? Was it infact a rebadged old toyota/ nissan?

Not technically a Ferrari either. And we all know the best looking Ferrari is the 250 GTO

Crash testing,Pedestrian impact and aerodynamics have affected the way cars look a lot.

For example when's the last time you saw a car with pillars as thin as this

288 Gto is a cracker , always liked the 512BB after having a Bburago model of one as a kid.
[img] [/img]
Regards modern cars the Alfa 8c is a corker easily on a par looks wise with any modern Ferrari.

For me they'll never top the 355, best looking car I can think of.

As much as I hate to reference clarkson, his point that Ferrari only seem to concentrate on one thing at once seems to ring true. So when the f1 team are doing well, the road cars suffer and when the road cars are top draw, the racing team isn't so good.

Ferrari f1 aren't exactly world beaters at the moment....

Thought you'd like that. IIRC, the owner was running it at the Goodwood FOS this year.

I work round the corner from a Ferrari dealer and I don't think I could ever get bored of looking at a 458, its the best looking Ferrari for years. They went through a bit of a dodgy phase with the 355, 360, and 430 but most of the current line up are stunning cars.

250 GTO is lovely car and the sound from that V12 is awesome. Listening to the 250's and 275's around Le Mans the other week was great 😀 But for looks alone I don't think you can beat the balanced lines of the 308/346 🙂

That's NOT a Ferrari! It's a Dino. (Being pedantic I know, but it was never badged as a Ferrari.)

I think like most marques, they produce some beauties and some beasts. I like the look of the California and the FF (not a hot hatch but a four seater, four wheel drive proper Grand Tourer). Some of the more angular looking ones don't do it for me. I wouldn't turn one down if given one of course.

However it's the older models that look best - Maranello, Daytona, Superfast.

its not that Ferrari have become bland, its that other manufacturers have upped their game a bit. I'll be honest, never liked Ferrari, always liked something a bit different like a lambo.
