I normally use wahl balding clippers without a guard but they are just about gone. This is my second set and they work well but I was wondering what with the passage of time and all that if there were any better sets about these days. I don't want to bic it just electric shave. Any suggestions or are wahl still top dog

I picked up the Remington 'curved blade' hair trimmers on amazon for £20!

even if you can get them this cheap, I'd still invest in them. They're fantastic! One hell of a motor inside it...you can properly scalp yourself!

just oil the blades and let them 'break-in'.

I'm surprised your Wahl's are gone - have had mine for yonks and they seem bombproof.

You can replace the blade set if they are just blunt and keeping blades oiled seems to work.

Braun Cruzer, rechargeable so no cables, Strip, go in shower (before putting water on!), buzz head with no guard, buzz beard with no.1, then shower. It's water proof too, so can be rinsed in shower too.

I've had mine for over 5 years, never missed a beat.

Whatever they have in the barbers. £3 once a month and I'm not going to worry about faffing round my ears when my specs are off or doubling up mirrors to see the back of my head.

Gillette or Wilkinson Sword 5 blade jobbies for me. Cant see the point in messing about shaving it down to a length that mine will grow to 2 days ( on the bits where it grows!!). Been bald since I was 27 and I'm 52 now so I don't need a mirror and can shave the back blindfold. Only once have I taken a bacon slicer style strip of flesh out of the back of my head. That smarted a bit.

Once a month?!!!!! I have to do mine (with no guard) every 3-4 day’s or I look like Iain Duncan Smith!!

One of natures cruel ironies. Where it still grows, it really grows 🙁

Cheers all I'll get some new blades.  I can't set shave as I seem to get ingrown hairs and it feels horrible in my fire helmet thanks

Go straight to the razor and get a headblade because they are great.

Yes to all three! There’s an older version with wheels too so that you can make brumm noises whilst shaving your head in the shower. All joking aside they actually work really well and give a nice smooth, close shave

What ever on offer ever 2years or so.

Im a about once a month down to 3mm, but then I rock the action man look. I would go without the guide but it's not appropriate for my work.

Wahl mains powered for me, just on to my second set after maybe 6 years.

I don’t go baldy but do cut down to #2 (s****) weekly.
