[Closed] Feeling unwell (dodgy tummy) after exercise

Spent a bit of January struggling with the flu thing that was going around – didn't get it really badly but had a couple of iffy days. During that time I stopped my usual gym sessions but since I was (seemingly) better I started going again. However I have then had an upset tummy in the day or two afterwards. For example, I went on Sunday morning and did an hour of weights followed by an hour on the spin bike (recorded 51 minutes in my peak zone).

During the night I woke with tummy pains and went to the loo with an upset tummy. Since then it is griping and generally being annoying.

This follows a similar trend of the last few times I have been – not always the same symptoms but generally feeling a bit knocked out by it.

Time to rest a bit? Or just a co-incidence?

Are you using any pre or post worjkout shakes? Maybe an allergic reaction?

Whey protein ruins my stomach these days despite using it 3x daily in my 20's when I used to lift.

Nope - diet not changed (nor habits/timings), don't do any special foods at all.

Damn right.

It's a mild, lingering gastro upset. Shart territory for the unwary. Be warned.....

That's what it was like last night – a huge fart in bed followed by that unmistakeable feeling that I was about to do a Spud from Trainspotting (which I avoided by rushing to the loo).

Pffft...Amateurs.

I just had six days worth of Salmonella poisoning and lost half a stone in a week.

A danger fart was a dream to aspire to.

Yeah I had campylobacter once – not a pleasant experience at all. I couldn't be more than about 15 seconds from a toilet for over a week.

There's a Kevin B Wilson song about that 🙂

It's NSFW though

Going round on this side of the north sea as well. Currently at home with the kids as they aren't allowed to be at school.

Started off with one of them "farting" in the bath on saturday.

Well, it started as a fart. The two of them are now taking it in turns to make bathrooms uninhabitable. Just glad we've got two to choose from.
