It wasn't like this in 1948.

48? Rationing was still in place although if we'd had the sponsorship concept I'm sure it would have been stuff like

The official brown ale of the Olympics

and

The official cigarette of the Olympics

which I find oddly less repulsive than most of the sponsorships. Does anyone buy a product because of the Olympic links?

Anyone want a 48 pack of superflow tampons? I got carried away with the hype 🙁

Funnily enough, I was chatting about olympics apathy last night with Mrs Sinatra. We have got tickets to ladies mountain biking, canoe sprint and I was planning to head down for the road race as well. Now questioning if we can be bothered with any of them. Road race will be good but none of these events will be anything like velodrome / swimming / stadium events.

It's got to the point i'd quite like it to be a flop, which is quite sad after all the genuine work thats been done towards it, still at least i know which company makes the official catfood of the Olympics now 🙄

Is there a countdown site to the end of the whole olympic farce?

Not cool.

The only thing that keeps my head up is the thought of the actual event and the sport. If it weren't for that I'd be fed up with it too.

Focus on the sport, that will be great.

"Focus on the sport"

Not if Chambers and Millar are "competing"

Who is the official illegal drug supplier of the Olympics?

Yes, focus on the sport, and ignore the rest of what is going on...

Millar can compete, as far as I am concerned. But then I appreciate that people make mistakes and come good in the end.

All the people I have spoke with about the olympics.....just moan, moan, moan and more moaning.....

I am excited about it and cant wait for it all to start, I just ignore all the other stuff and just focus on the sports....

And the best bit about it for me.....easy the track cycling, say no more! 😉

Come on people, stop moaning and suck it all up....!!!! 😉

people moaning

It is the British national sport after all. The only thing Britain does to a consistently high level. Even our dirgy national anthem sounds like a load of people complaining.

I'm looking forward to the Olympics. I'll watch any sport as long as it doesn't involve horses.

So, you're of "Olympics", eh? Already!

How long did you expect it to take, then?

try and imagine my excitement yesterday when my girlfriend said she'd got us tickets to see the bmx! - good seats too (apparently).

now try and imagine my dissappointment this morning when i realise we've only got tickets for the seeding runs on wednesday.

🙁

good seats though...

(it might not be rubbish, but bmx racing without any racing could be a bit pants)

Solo, not troll i genuinely believe drug cheats shouldn't compete, if you like your sporting results to have doubts that's fine

As for the shift key comment, that's a bit childish don't you think?
