I sold a pair of trainers for £50, buyer purchased them on friday, I was ill on monday and tuesday so sent wednesday. Sent buyer message apologising and explaining and offering to refund the rest of the postage, to make up for it. Buyer messages me saying "he hasn't bought no trainer", proceeds to be a dick and make out like I've hacked his account. Problem is I've already sent them. He's contacted paypal and I got this message on ebay:
Hello,
We had to cancel bids and purchases on the following item(s) for the buyer, soul0156, because they were made without the account owner's permission:

- Don't communicate with the buyer directly.
- Verify any payments you've been notified of by logging in to your PayPal account (or other online payment service).
- If the buyer requests refunds or additional payments, don't send any money without contacting eBay first.
- If you've already sent the item, try contacting the shipping carrier to find out if you can stop shipment.

We're sorry for any inconvenience, and we thank you for your patience and cooperation.

THE BEST THEY SUGGEST IS TRYING TO CANCEL POSTAGE? What do I do please help 🙁
Could you clarify that the buyer actually paid?
Yup, recieved paypal confirmation on my email and on ebay?
How do the delivery address and the Paypal details match up?
They match up. I think it's my fault for sending it 2nd class. I haven't sold anything lately, and everything I have has gone so well, and £2.80 for a big box was too cheap to say no to. I should've sent it tracked. 🙁
That sound a bit more in your favour. It now sounds like the buyer had second thoughts, got fed up of waiting and bought from somewhere else.
I wouldn't worry about the lack of comms or the time delay, they still promised to pay. I would think it highly unlikely that both Ebay and Paypal accounts were hacked.
Try and call Paypal and talk it through with them, just givng them facts and getting them to explain what they think.
They're not as bad as some peole make out to deal with.
Good luck.
That may be your downfall, but maybe by then they'll consider the buyer to be untrustworthy ?I should've sent it tracked.
Have you got the cash ?
got fed up of waiting and bought from somewhere else.
I never actually thought of this!!
Just a lot Captainsasquatch for the support, I actually really appreciate it, this was stressing me out big time. The buyer opened a case on paypal and I just told them everything, said how he only contacted me after I sent them, how surely he must have seen somewhere if it was accidental and cancelled it before??? I told them I suspected him of scamming, didn't think about the likelyhood of both accounts being hacked at the same time, good point!! I agree actually, I had a similair thing with an xbox I sold and the buyer claimed he didn't intend to buy it, after I've sent it. Turns out he signed for it, I sent a pic of the signature to paypal and money was mine (:

hopefully, it'd be almost impossible not to notice you've bought something, he's obviously lying!
edit: no I dont its been taken from my account as have the beautiful trainers 🙁
I suggest you phone PayPal to discuss it with them.
I expect you're screwed though, as you didn't send them tracked.
You can claim from RM though, maybe not the whole £50, as long as you have the receipt, as you can bet your life the 'buyer' is going to claim non delivery, and not return them.
Did you put a return address on the packaging? If you did and the buyer is honest, they could just refuse delivery.
I think the only course you've got is to speak with Paypal, explain to them that the Ebay account and Paypal account match up, at which point in the process the buyer contacted you, that you have sent the goods to the address of the buyer and followed all their guidelines as a seller and still you've been shafted as you're out of pocket and goods. Detail all the communications and deal with facts, not opinions. Ask them how it sounds to them.
I had a dodgy buyer through Paypal a while ago, the money was frozen and then returned after a bit of toing and froing. Paypal don't always find in the buyers favour.
It might also be an expensive lesson.
I'd also be getting in touch with the buyer to let them know that you've sent the goods and would be grateful for their safe return.
The (hopeful) lack of response from them will work in your favour too in the eyes of Paypal. If they do respond positively, you should get the goods back.

I did exactly that, I just wanted to let you guys know that paypal reached their verdict this morning, and I won the case! Very happy, was really stressing about it! I've learnt my lesson too. Thanks to all for your support and advice!!! Really helped me out (:
has your buyer accepted that the trainers were delivered ?
RESULT ! 😀
Not sure, but paypal said they found no evidence of tampering on his account and ruled it in my favour! Very happy 🙂
I'm pleased for you, it's not a pleasant experience.
I always use Post Office tracking now, they can track and it's insured.
