The theme tune thread took me back to a tv favourite of mine growing up.
I've always been a two wheels person, rather than four, so used to love the classic, Streethawk 😀 Chips too.

The bike in it now looks faintly ridiculous but at the time it looked dead futuristic and cool.
It looks a lot like they took a nod from the 1980 classic, Suzuki Katana

There were a few different bikes that Streethawk was based around.

For the extended pilot episode, showrunners used a 1983 Honda XL500 to wow audiences and secure a short slate of episodes for the first and sadly only season. Once the regular season started, the motorcycles were 1984 Honda XR500s. We bet most viewers didn’t notice the difference since the two bikes look similar enough. On top of that, the motorcycles wore cosmetic modifications since such a top-secret bike couldn’t look just ordinary.

Pretty amazing how they just dumped a shed load of plastic on the bike. It looks incredibly clumsy now, but at the time, to a kid, it was pretty awesome 😅

What are your favourite tv or movie vehicles?

Loved Street Hawk!

Airwolf was my favourite though, you don't even need to watch an episode, you just need the intro (theme tune and all). And the sound of the helicopter!!!

All the usual 80's contenders.

- A team van and Corvette
- Fall guy ford pick up
- Dukes of hazard dodge Challenger
- Smokie and bandit Transam and big trucks
Plus loads more.....

The number one vehicle from my child hood has to be.......

BIGFOOT!!!!!

I know it's cheating as it didn't have it's own show but it did appear in a few films.

Good call on the Fall Guy’s Ford pickup.

I also liked the pickup in Simon & Simon.

Pick up

The coolest car in movie history is the Renault 4 driven by Danny Devito in Romancing The Stone.

No movie car has ever been cooler than the Porsche 917s and Ferrari 512s in Le Mans. 🙂

Northwind has it, Ford Falcon XB GT with the Monza body kit is the definitive one though.

Saw an XB at a car show once, it was so bloody big you could park a Charger in the boot!

Also special mention to KITT, that car could smash through polystyrene like it was balsa wood!

Pah.

Take a Beetle, stuff a Porsche engine in it and make it look like a McLaren. Utterly bonkers motor and cooler than a penguin's fridge.

Probably should've been posted in the theme tune thread also.

Hardcastle & McCormack??? ^^^^

I always preferred Blue Thunder to Airwolf, although Airwolf was very cool.

The Dukes of Hazzard Charger & the Transam from Smokey & the Bandit.....wow!

And yes I know it was a shidt car, but hard to look past the BTTF Delorean.

Ahem, the Countach (and girls) in Cannonball Run.

Thread should end at Northwind's post. Hands down the last V8 is the coolest movie car.

Some HMs though...

Tron light cycle

They were pretty good at taking corners!

The bike in First Blood was an XT250.
I'd love one of those now.

This any good to anyone? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325164063854

That's my personal favourite and always will be. I'd be tempted to buy one if I hadn't spent so much time driving similar Econoline's and Chevy Blazer's. It'll be terrible and it would bankrupt me.
