If you bunked off school in Hungary for the same film, the poster was like this:

Growing up my grandad had a video shop so my bedroom was constantly adorned in movie posters. Loved this one

I saw an awesome documentary a while back called Drew Struzan: The Man Behind The Poster. I never twigged that one guy was responsible for so many iconic designs (assumed different people were just drawing in the same style). He did well over 150, mainly in the 80s. All the Star Wars films, Indiana Jones, BTTF, The Thing, Goonies, Blade Runner, the list goes on.

Wow! I'll have to look for that documentary, looking at that list I'd say Spielberg was a big fan!

The one I probably noticed the most stuck on walls was as a plane mad kid in the 80's.

Dammit Binners, I was just getting to that 😀

Best modern poster I've seen for some time. Most new film poster are just pap. The best ones are the old ones.

Those Hungarian Star Wars ones are amazing! What's the story there? Why are they so radically different?

Favourite 'modern era' poster is...

[img] [/img]

I'm also a big fan of some of the Mondo "re-imaginings", particularly by Horkey and Durieux..

The video nasties whilst far from being good - are certainly hard to throw from a child's memory.

I'd forgotten Akira!
I love Miyazaki's films, but this is one of my all-time favourite films, and the poster is one of my favourite scenes from the film:

[img] [/img]

There's this one as well, clearly not a Miyazaki film!

[img] [/img]

Perhaps not a favourite poster, but certainly a favourite film:

[img] [/img]

Another favourite film, that few seem to remember, like the one above, but I love it to bits, and I wish I had an original copy of the poster, it's a lovely piece of work:
