currently watching the 70's remake of king kong, got thinking as to what my favourite monster is in a film.

a lot of greats to choose from (most created by the late great ray harryhausen 😉

also the thing (john carpenter remake) was fab too,not forgetting the alien from the seminal film (hr giger is a genius 😀

godzilla is also fantastic (japanese original).

damn it cannot pick one (who came up with this thread anyhoo 😆

will get back to you 😉

Alien Queen is a brilliant monster.

the Rancor Monster from Jedi scared the crap out of me when I was 7 years old, not quite as scary these days though

Agree with ton. The Pale Man was very scary. The Cenobites have got to be up there too.

The female cenobite used to be our drama teacher. True story.

I like Boris Karloff in the Universal 1933 Frankenstien, such and enduring monster. Also like Lugosi as Dracula. But n think the one that really gave me the creeps was Nosferatu (1922). Very chilling.

So many great ones, and a lot have already been mentioned. The original HR Geiger Alien, superb design, and genuinely scary. The first time I saw the film, I took my then G/F. Who sat pressed up by my side, occasionally peeking through her fingers. 😆
Others, the alien in Carpenter's The Thing, especially when the blokes head sprouts legs and scuttles across the floor!
The Pale Man in Pan's Labyrinth, a really creepy creation, although I would argue that the biggest monster is the police officer who pounds a man's face in with a wine bottle.
The Cenobites, particularly Pinhead
Nosferatu
Jenny Agutter
...just kidding. 😀
