Intelligent, erudite prose for those not completely obsessed by looks & horsepower.
Roland Barthes essay on the DS probably takes the top prize, but Llewellyn's visit to the Battle of Britain airfields in homage to his father's memory is a very close second.

Actually I think James May is the best motoring journo I came across. But then I stopped reading car mags a long time ago.
