Apart from Jesus who I keep hearing all my life from people around me, I guess it is me colleague at the moment ... coz he loves bacon.
Anyone who loves bacon earns my respect especially when going against his/her "belief".
Bacon taste good. 😆
edit: Albert Einstein ... I guess for others.
Christopher Hitchens

Jeremy. Known him since 2003 when we were living in London. He perfected marijuana flapjacks that tasted even nicer than regular flapjacks. Genuinely nice guy.
Victoria Coren
No problem with the title edit but for my own information, is "jew" derogatory?
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.
If only because his name is cool.
My mate Si.
No problem with the title edit but for my own information, is "jew" derogatory?
Not to Jews. Perhaps the mods were unsure or confused.
It's political correctness gone mad, I tell you.
No problem with the title edit but for my own information, is "jew" derogatory?
No. But then I'm not a fully paid up member of the professionally offend club.
@wrecker. The problem with your original title isn't that it's derogatory. And your apparent aim for the thread is fun. Just that the word carries some baggage. Especially on the internet. This piece explains some of the background.
I'd have to go for Rabbi Lionel Blue. An absolute star and one of the few people to make 'Thought for the Day' entertaining and enlightening.
And Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, and Gal Gadot.

Matisyahu. Altho not so keen on his stuff since he de-bearded.
Dave Gorman 🙂
John E Freiberg ... Greenwich CT resident who I worked for for one summer!
He took scrimping and saving to a whole new level, loved and hated him in equal measure!
How did I forget this?

It was David Baddiel, now it's Gal Gadot Phwooooaaaarrrr!
Hard to choose really such a range. I could make a list 50 names long
Albert Einstein for such an enormous contribution to Science
Elmer Bernstein - that dude has made some great film music!
Gal Gadot. It's possibly a bit sexist to nominate her just for being the most beautiful woman that's ever lived, so I'll add to it that she's been in no less than 3 different Fast and Furious films. Hard to imagine a higher accord.
Certainly not Ryan - went to school with him & he was a bit of an arse. Nothing to do with his religious affiliation mind you.
Feynmann
and Baddiel - I'd strongly recommend his show about his parents.
Einstein has already been mentioned so I'd like to add Simon Schama to the list. Bit of a sentimentalist but I could listen to him waffle on for hours.
Gal Gadot, wasn't he the bad guy in Batman Begins?
Abram aka Abraham
(lights blue touch paper and retires immediately). 😉
Are we talking practising or culturally Jewish?
Someone's mentioned Albert Einstein, but no-one has come up with Rabbi Lionel Blue yet. He made listening to Radio 4 a pleasure.
Seeing as Victoria Coren has been snapped up, there's the simply wonderful Miriam Margolyes.
the rabbi lionel blair ?
no-one has come up with Rabbi Lionel Blue yet

A person's religion or ethnicity is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned, in fact the one thing that concerns me least is whatever deity someone believes in, far more important is how they behave as a human being.
It's never, ever occurred to me to ask or even wonder.
That's why this is a bit of a tongue in cheek thread, but you'll notice that no-one's actually talking about Jewishness. Kind of nice to highlight that Jewish people are just normal people and can be celebs like anyone else.

What if you found out that I am your overlord? How will you feel? Do you feel disgusted? 😈
edit: This is just an assumption but you need think about it that I am your overlord. 😈
Leonard Cohen. Oh, and my mother.

Bit patronising?! 😀 Especially in the entertainment/film biz, where they're very well represented!
Not sure about favourite Jew, but the Jewish person I've voluntarily heard speak most about Jewishness is Marc Maron. I really enjoy his podcasts, and a few of them, when he's interviewing someone else who's Jewish, get into what it means to them to be Jewish, how it's more than just belief in a god, and actual belief in the actual God is secondary to the social/societal/cultural aspect.
I think the Mel Brooks interview gets into it, but certainly the Jeff Goldblum one does, and the Ben Sidran one is absolutely fascinating, from start to finish, on every aspect they touch on (he's a jazz/rock n roll pianist, played with everyone. There's a great section at the end where they get into Jewishness and getting more "Jewey" as they get older, figuring out the bits of the culture that start to unexpectedly chime with them.
interview starts at 13:35. Jewishness chat starts at 15:04 - earlier than I remembered!

Rabbi Lionel Blue. Sadly missed.
Einstein, Oppenheimer, Teller.
And on the other side Gal Gadot...a real life Wonderwoman.
