My Google-fu is weak today!
Trying to find a list of the traditional farm gate designs by county and struggling. Some are four bar, one cross, some five bar four cross, etc.
Exceedingly dull question, but turning to the HiveMind...
I'd agree that it's dull, but I wouldn't want to cause a fence.
Cap'n - I have a book called "Gates & Stiles" written by Michael Roberts and it's to do with the history and design of British gates and stiles. You're very welcome to borrow it. Published by Gold Cockerel Books.
Ooh, found it:

Hive mind delivers!
Why?
Are you expanding out of the paperclip industry?
That'll be a riveting read.

In Seoul they favour the Gangnam Stile
This thread is 9 out of 10 already! 😆
The Aussie classic is this:

Gangnam Stile
😆
Dull reason - might need to replace a gate, and would like to have the right style (sic) for my location. Wanted to know what I was after before speaking to gate makers, farm shops etc.
I should think a lot of us have seen a wide variety of farm gates through riding 😀
Dull reason
Ok, I'll admit it, [s]some[/s] lots of years ago, I was actually going to see if I could get a website started off which was akin to that one about electricity pylons. Me & my mate used to muse about the many different & often rudimentary gate fastenings encountered on rides & I even took photo's of the more unusual ones.
Never got round to it.
