Yep, it's one of them lockdown jobs...
The grout between our kitchen tiles is looking pretty sad. It's in decent nick, just grey and grubby, far from it's original bright white. It's about five years old, and, no, we didn't apply the spray protector/sealant stuff that the man in the shop told us to apply...
I've looked on that there internet and there are gajillion different "this simple hack fixes dirty grout fast!!" type ideas, often involving vinegar, baking soda, sometimes loo brushes fitted into drill heads, and of course there are those grout pens.
So, has anyone ever successfully re-whitened tile grout? What's the best way?
Neat bleach ftw
Watches with interest.
We did apply grout sealer, grout still got dirty and grey after a few years. 10 years later.... it really needs addressing.
We use Flash Bleach bathroom spray. Spray on tiles, wipe over all the grout. Come back in a few hours and it's all white and pristine.
This simple hack fixes dirty grout fast!!

Thanks Perchykins. Although aren't those grout pens basically Tippex?
Looks like nothing more fancy than good old bleach then?
flash bathroom x2
technique here involved:
spray on
wipe it around a bit to make sure the grout is plenty covered
don't wipe it off
leave the room
forget about it
PS, it's amazing how much cleaning products are basically bleach. Or bleach with some foamy stuff. Or bleach with a bit of perfume to make it smell less like bleach to make it more acceptable to fussy family members.
HG Grout Cleaner works very well.
Wet-wall panels.
On my kitchen floor?
*although in the same vein of course the answer originally should have been lino, but I was slightly bullied into tiles by a builder who reckoned you can't use lino with underfloor heating. Which is nonsense.
On my kitchen floor?
Grey grout for floor tiles. Using white was a rookie mistake.
Just had the kitchen tiled and gun metal grey grout used, hopefully will be quite easy to maintain as opposed to white
HG Grout Cleaner +1 it just works.
Top top regrout with a grey grout next time 🙂 just like above ^^ we had it done two years ago, still looks ace.
HG stuff for us, the mould stuff is pretty good too
Using
whitetiles, not lino, was a rookie mistake.
Honestly, I don't know why we did it. We've got 'tile' lino in the downstairs bog, 'wooden floor' lino in the bathrooms upstairs and my folks have 'tile' lino in their kitchen. It looks really good, stuff's more likely to bounce if dropped, it's miles cheaper, there's no grout...
Milton sterilising fluid.
Squirt it on, leave it half an hour, wipe it off. Grouting comes up like new
Just make sure you open all the windows and doors and try not to breathe too much
After trying several specialist  items For some very old bathroom grout, Mrs K pick up this:

Sprayed on, light scrubbing and it was pretty much new looking, it was pretty amazing and  surprising tbh
Another HG grout cleaner recommendation here... i bought it after using their mould cleaner, so since then & during lock down ive bought their oven cleaner (we can see inside the oven again) & grease cleaner (cleaned the extractor fan a treat). All good stuff!
