My eyes started to water. I couldn't trust other drivers if I was at that speed on a bike.
Fark.
😈
Nutso.
Still, if you're late for Llandegla, you're late for Llandegla.
Wow! Donorbiker owned by an Audi. That'll flaccidify some power rangers when they see that. 🙂
I thought it was going to be properly quick! I drove to Austria last year. Using the autobahn a lot, averaged 115 on it with Stretches getting upto 140. Sat at 130 in one section when an RS6 came past like I was standing still. Must have been doing 180.
And the driving was south better than our motorways. Plenty space between cars everyone pulls back to the inner lane. Just rather relaxing to drive compared with here.

It's against the law to "lane hog" in Germany, and they do police it.
I lived in the north and had a ZX9R (top speed +175mph, so slower) - we use to go out on a sunday morning and 'bait' the Porsches and other fast cars.
Bikes are normally quicker once in front, as you can accelerate as soon as the car ahead starts to move over, whereas cars need to wait for the full lane to be clear.
Most ridiculous bit > Overtaking the bike at 185mph
Years ago when I was stupid, I approached those kinds of speeds but 15 or so years on I watched that with fear of somebody pulling out and causing a VVV high speed collision. 😯
I'm happy to bimble around in my great big heavy 4x4.
Those kind of speeds are LONG gone for me thankfully.
Truly insane going that fast on a bike on public roads!

It's not all fun and games, though.
That's Jamie in the RS6......
That's a horrible link ScottChegg.
Cue that Swedish nutter on his Hyerbusa.

When we lived there it felt far safer than my m/c commute into and around London.
Tailgating is illegal in Germany too. Doesn't stop Cayennes and AMGs and Audis with their "Oi! get out of my way - Audi driver coming through!" eyelash driving lights sitting 3 microns from my rear while I pass a handful of lorries at 160kph on a 2-lane autobahn.
Think it's only €200 fine if caught.
Seen some insane speeds on the Darmstadt-Frankfurt section of Autobahn. Dead straight, not even a kink, and is where Auto Union used to do speed tests in those old V16 cars. There's a memorial there for one of the top drivers that crashed there.
220kph (indicated) in the taxi from the airport last time I was on mission, with 1 more "fast lane" to the left! Motorbike comes steaming past to overtake. Rider had lid, gloves, boots, but otherwise was just wearing jeans and t-shirt.
Does he hit 300?
Reminds me of sitting on the talgo from Madrid to Valladolid. The carriage speed indicator sits tantalisingly at 299kmh...
Ghost Rider - lunacy
i think the readout must be limited to showing 299 because the engine note and rev counter lights increase but the speed stays the same. just a guess though. mental vids though. if a car had not spotted him and pulled out behind the audi he would have been a goner.
That was my thought really. Given at that speed you would see the car approaching (if you were very observant) but the bike would be almost impossible to see.
All bikes are "technically" limited to 186/299 under a "gentlemans agreement" amongst the factories to stop Europe getting heavy handed.
Doesn't mean they actually won't go any faster....
ABP remove the factory limiter on the Audi's, increase fuelling, boost, etc - £60-100k and 700BHP is what it takes to beat a £8k standard bike and that's only after 150+ MPH....
£50 on a gearing change and the Audi is toast 😛
As above, the bike will be limited to 300kph/186mph
