Posted on Facebook "Can anyone recommend a great medium/psychic please.someone very accurate and good. I want to see one again."
Do I:
a) post a link to a website/book that succinctly de-bunks all mediums as frauds?
b) bite my tongue and let her be ripped off and deluded by such a fraud?
Thanks
A good old-fashioned slap around the chops, then a)
Repeat as often as needed.
Errr.........speak to them?
they'll be asking about chiropractics next, it's a slippery slope.

I love this quote:
Speaking to the dead is the easy part: anyone can do that. It's getting them to talk back!

I'm getting the word....Nonce. Love it
Any medium or psychic worth their salt should know in advance that you require their services and contact you, instead of you having to contact them.

Call it therapy, knowing their loved ones are ok in the afterlife. No medium will say "your mum is in serious pain and hated you", it will always be "she love you always and is at peace now so no longer suffers" etc etc etc
If this kind of thing makes you feel better I see no harm whatsoever.
As long as the so called medium is not taking the michael.
its all taking the michael as none of is true
they make a living form telling folk that their loved one is safe and loved them etc or predicting the future - which they cannot do
Its snake oil though they are often sincere in their delusion.
I would take the piss relentlessly and expect to be ignored/ make them cross

Wait, i'm feeling a presence. Is there a....... a Dave in the room.........
I suppose the question is what's the potential harm in going to a psychic. The answer to which is here.
http://whatstheharm.net/psychics.html
It's very general and covers a lot of stuff but it does give lie to the assumption that they are only there to help people with their problems.
Surely there will be loads of psychics who know they are wanted for a reading? And the telephone number for your relatives?
Tell them "no good will come of this".
When they ask "why not?" just look sage-like and then wink almost imperceivably.
I once went to see someone who claimed to be a Medium on their web page. She was no Medium, more a Large or XL!
From the link I posted above
A reading should be evidentially based, therefore proving the continual existence of the human soul as a way of evidence brought forward by our Loved one’s in the spirit world, by full description of their appearance while they were in their human body and personality of character and name, bringing with it the mannerism/sayings they were known for or memories shared between you.
I've read it a couple of times and can only conclude that what he's trying to say is
I will tell you any old bollox for a fee and hopefully you will believe it and I will continue to sell my snake oil for all you mugs out there to buy it

Bit like joining a cult then?
Go talk to them please. I lost my dad recently and can sympathise with the quote above about talking to the dead every day but not getting them to talk back. That is a deeply difficult part of the grieving process - I sat on a hill the other day with my dogs chatting to my dad and when I didnt hear his voice back it felt like being punched in the stomach. Fortunately i know that mediums and other snake oils salesman do not provide the answer. That comes from elsewhere with family being the first port of call.
My advice, go and give them a bloody big hug and listen to them.
