Decided to take the kids to legoland in Dec and want to stay somewhere the night before so we can do a little sightseeing around Windsor.

Any recommendations for a family room?
Thanks

if it's just for a room then somewhere in Slough will be way cheaper. Just the other side of the M4

We did a two day deal and stayed at the Lego hotel. ‘Twas off season and mid week though so affordable and avoided Slough ;o)

Premier inn in slough was fine despite being in an industrial estate. Parking over the road in the multi storey. Usual on site restaurant, but plenty of places in Windsor to eat anyhow. 10 mins drive into Windsor.

Thanks. Weekend at Christmas so definitely peak! I’m pushing for Slough as Travel lodge Windsor sounds noisy and rough at the weekend!

Slough and Windsor are so close together that you do not have to set foot in Slough Town Centre to stay in a hotel there. Just grab one somewhere just off the M4 on the Slough side and save some money.

Windsor is probably just as rough on weekend nights anyhow when the barracks empties out.

We spent ages looking for a bargain hotel and then found the Lego hotel was no more expensive. You get a bit of exclusive early entry into the park in the morning as well.

Heston M4 services Travelodge are usually pretty cheap. They are a bit dated , but fine for a one night stay. Never had an issue with noise

I would have recommended the Holiday Inn Maidenhead. Has a pool, decent breakfast, often do deals with Legoland tickets. Not in Slough. Not a travellodge. Marlow’s 10 mins down the road for truly great pub food. However it appears to be completely closed for some reason, anyone know why?

Slough is a proper dreadful dung fest.  I’d rather stay in a Heathrow airport hotel than in Slough itself.

It's worth noting a chubk of legoland is shut in dec, some of the faster rides etc don't operate due to the weather

We did Legoland on the way south last year, I found one of the airports hotels at Heathrow to be the cheapest option (Might have been a Holiday Inn Express). The drive to Legoland was short enough for a McDonalds breakfast and a wander around Windsor before Legoland opened..

Home Office has been block-booking it for the last 18+ months to house refugees.

We stayed in the Premier Inn Slough Central to split our two days at Legoland - car park nearby, pizza express just around the corner but plenty of other good options nearby. And the huge Tesco up the road to stock up on sandwiches and snacks for the following day.

we stayed at the Travelodge in the centre of Windsor https://maps.app.goo.gl/UJ7UdvWUvRkM1z9U6 as we were without a car and it was handy for the railway station etc

Thanks all. Ended up with the premier inn in Slough as seemed most convenient and the travel lodge had bad reviews (very noisy at the weekends).

young kids so small rides are best for us anyway!

Cheers

Back in the day we stayed in Slough. It was fine. Premier inn or similar if I remember correctly.

take a way of transporting both of them without them walking (ie pushchair + buggyboard or 2 pushchairs). Its a long day for little legs, and a long day for big legs if you're lugging a 4 year old around on your shoulders for the second half of it. Guess how I know..
