We're looking for a family-friendly campsite for a week/10 days in the summer holidays for myself, Mrs R and the two little Rs.

Open to suggestions if anyone has stayed anywhere particularly brilliant, but fully accessible bike trails - suitable for pulling a disabled teenager on an adapted bike, so no drop offs - and/or quiet roads straight from the gate are pretty essential.

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers all.

Not Yorkshire, but we enjoyed RIvendale in Derbyshire - near trails as you seek, and the campsite itself is set in an old quarry which is a different setting to most. Not a lot of evening entertainment / pool etc for the kids if that was your thing though.

Have a look at UKcampsite for other ideas - pretty much the ST of camping.

Here are the reviews for the above site for example - http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2664

The newly opened Swale Trail might be worth looking at  https://cyclethedales.org.uk/route/swale_trail/

Several campsites in Swaledale - which I reckon is the prettiest dale of all. I can't speak for family friendliness though. A lot of good more adventurous trails too should you need some.

There’s a nice campsite in Kettlewell. Not sure if family oriented, but facilities were virtually brand new two years ago when I visited.

My mate Val owns the old station campsite in Masham. That’s a nice spot.

Castle Rigg Farm, Dalby forest. Can't fault it.

Cote Ghyll gets some great reviews - I think we are giving it a go this summer

+1, Although I think it's called Stoneclose these days. Or the siteis, but the farm it's on is called Catle Rigg? I'm cinfusing myself now.

Found it:

Also, there's a big family friendly place at Rosedale. It's a hell (short but very steep) of a road climb up the Chimney but once you're up there (can drive it if that's an option) then you have the old railway trail right round the valley with great views and old iron mineworks around. http://www.rosedaleabbeycaravanpark.co.uk/

Can't recommend a site but I strongly recommend the North Yorkshire moors. We did a couple of Polaris events there in the 90s and I loved the area.
