So it seems that, if you wanted, you could do a different trail running / biking / orienteering / adventure race every weekend.

Whilst considering entering Illuminator Run i thought about how that might go down at home, another weekend away for me and me alone.  So, instead of entering an event for just me, I thought it would be fun to do something for the family.

Are there any challenge type events that can be done as a family?  Kids are 12, 10 and 8 and are all relatively fit and relatively adventurous.  Some sort of multi activity event would be brilliant, a bit of running, obstacle course, maybe a bit of paddling etc.  Ideally in Southern / central Scotland, Lakes or Northumberland but would happily travel further and make a weekend of it for a quality event.

Needless to say, if you can add a bit of skiing into the mix then we'd definitely be up for it.

It's the wrong end of the country and it's been years since I did one but I always found the Questars ones to be well run and suitable for a wide range of abilities.

We used to organise mates adventure race, including families, as we had 120+ staff at the outdoor centres. It was ace. Organise your own!
