Had a pretty rough time recently and want to get away for a few nights.
Camped with the Missus a few years ago at 3 cliffs in the gower and it was great but there was nothing in the way of shops or anything for miles. Sleeping 2 feet from the top of a cliff was good for the views but not such a good idea with 2 kids under 3.
Anyone got any personal experience of somewhere more kid friendly in the same sort of area or maybe a bit further west, Looking for it to be as close to a beach as possible.
Carreg llywd camp site on Port Eynon beach on the Gower is much better than 3 cliffs. The Ship (shit) inn isn't much cop though, although the rock pools at low tide and hermits cave are great, as is the yellow banana boat that goes around to worms head. As everyone says you have to have the weather (hence we go to france now....)
We stayed here last week. Playground for the kids. 10 min walk to the beach. Barmouth close by for shops, amusements, donkey rides...
