Children can make their minds up rationally about which religion they want to follow, if any, when they are old enough and have been educated about all the religions.
Indoctrinating them into a religion (cult), or even teaching them that one of the religions must be right, is totally immoral.
I can't see any justification for people supporting faith schools and this indoctrination.
If we are to have schools that teach their pupils about all religions so that they can make their minds up later then having a faith school is a clear conflict of interest.
OP, if you look at last years admissions from your County you can get an idea where you would be in the pecking order and the implications of the faith bit in practice. In our case in pretty sure that merely living in the Parish, what is your closest school ranked higher than any relegious attendance. The tables also demonstrate the numbers taken under each criteria. For us, not all the faith schools had hard to comply with criteria and many had zero applicants against "do you attend the local church" or "do you attend any church" , so it boiled down to distance for those who didn't have a sibling etc
The point is May is "relaxing" the selection rules for faith schools so being a regular Godist will move up the pecking order. But hey as THM says this improves choice!
