Yes, I know there is a slight difference to normality at the moment but....

I order something towards the end of April with a 5 day delivery and confirmation that they will contact me if there are any issues.

5 days and hear nothing. Okay, I will be lenient given the current situation and wait.

10 days - nothing. I try ringing customer services but just get engaged tone

15 Days - nothing. I try ringing customer services but just get engaged tone every time I try, Probably a dozen times during the day.

I go to the local store and get told they don't do deliveries, don't know about my order and can't do anything to help other than suggest I ring customer service.

I no can't cancel my order, can't get a refund, can't speak to anyone to get any information, don't have the product I have paid for - yes money gone from the bank in April.

Any suggestions?

Wickes if that makes any difference

Can you log into your account on the website and see what it says?

I emailed Wickes about a problem, auto response said it would take a week to get back, it did but they sorted.

Had a very similar experience with Homebase.

Yes it's only 2 tins of paint, but 6 weeks to complete an order isn't really on.

I've given up and emailed for a refund. I'm not expecting it anytime soon.

Try Oakley; email, phone, chat = nada. Really unobtainium...

Had a very similar experience with Homebase.

Bought some paint a month ago and the expected delivery was stated to be up to 30 days.
Paint arrived yesterday about 28 days after the order.

I couldn't find the paint I wanted anywhere so bought it directly from Crown. Delivery was estimated at 14-21 working days. We're on day 18 now ...

For balance I did a Click & Collect at Wickes last week and it was very easy.

Probably one of the worst rants ever posted on STW. 1/10

No CAPSLOC or swear filter
Coherent
Chronological
Reasonable

Could do better, must try harder.

Got through. They have no idea when the item will be available as it is down to the supplier who has 28 days, not the 5 days stated. Even better, refunds take 72 hours to be approved and then a further 14 days to be processed. Can you imagine if it took 72 hours + 14 days to be able to buy something and give them the money?

Me : I placed an order 3 weeks ago and was told it would take 5 days or I would be informed if there was an issue.

Barry Andrew : I have found the order for you. The item on the order is a supplier item so they will be delivering it directly to you, that is why you have not heard anything as of yet

Me : When will this happen? I was told 5 days. Are you saying the item was never in stock and you have no idea when the supplier will deliver?

Barry Andrew : I am not saying that it was not in stock. What I am saying is that the supplier will be delivering this item as we do not deliver supplier items. They will be in contact with you. They do have a 28 day lead time

Me : Please can I have a refund

Barry Andrews : I will have to put a cancellation and refund request in for you. Once approved, which will take up to 72 hours, you will receive an email confirmation. This will be when the refund will begin its process which will take 14 working days

Me : Seriously???

Barry Andrews : That is the process. The refund will take longer as we have to confirm with the supplier. Any supplier item or issue will take longer I am afraid

I work for the same group of companies that Wickes is in. The problem is, a lot of there stock is held in a few central warehouses, and is then sent out o the stores within a day or two of having been ordered. Now, half the staff are furloughed, leaving the other half to do there work, and all he extra work because everyone else is at home bored ordering stuff of the internet.
Now I appreciate this is shit, but have some sympathy for the poor people working at the moment.

I have sympathy for the people doing the work and Barry was polite and helpful but 72 hours to approve a refund and then 14 days to process it?
