WTF is Hamilton doing?
Doh, beat me by 30s
WTF is Hamilton doing?
Some serious drugs by the looks of his driving.
Loved the comment from Button on the radio, "What is he doing?"
he's turning into an annoying gobshite
Stupid little idiot worse than me.
Really?
Tagged webber early on, then tangled with schu, then has a go at button. His mind seems to be all over the place!
Turning into an annoying gobshite? He always has been I thought!
button on inters.... rain coming....next one out or good call????
hamy PLONKER
Bit harsh Elfin......he's not that bad 😉
Looks like he's successfully trying to pi55 off another team mate. 😈
Lewis looked like he's just trying too hard at the moment, since it started he was an accident waiting to happen.
That said his death or glory approach is keeping things interesting...
Bit harsh Elfin......he's not that bad
Heh! 😀
I like Da Ham, but right now he's being a colossal helmet.
Alonso is a colossal helmet pretty much 24-7 though, just to put that into perspective.
He's a cracking driver just having a bad time - remember vettel last year. Personally I don't watch racing to listen to drivers, I watch racing and Hamilton is a cracking racer. Let's hope he continues to race hard and get under the skin of other drivers.
was that a timing error on massa's pit stop or are they really that fast now? 2.3seconds for tyres!?!
Bored now. 😐
Race is going to be mental on the restart!
:?What's happened to drivers these days. I remember when Senna and Prost would be on slicks on this weather. MTFU.*
😉 😕
Huh, red flagged. Honestly, they're as bad as cricketers or tennisists. Cyclists just get on with it and ride no matter what...
"...with poss spoilers"
Yup, plenty of them - Charlie Whiting being the biggest.
Just F1DTFU or bugger off back to go carts....
Probbly cos cornering speeds are much higher now. Smaller tyres, less wing, all sorts of things. They woon't stop the race without good reason.
Wet races 10-20 years ago were much slower than they are now. So, just too dangerous now to go full on in conditions like this.
I'm watching it but have no idea whats going on.but i've got the sound off and I'm watching freestylr windsurfing live from bonaire (my mate is commentating).
Ach. The cars are much safer now. Make em race.
In that? They'll drown! 😯
Take it on the chin Hamilton, don't pass the blame to other...
Dangerous? Is it cobblers. They can always go slower. Then the fastest man wins.
It's just like a race then. This is boring.
Pit for power boats. LOL.
You won't find these fellas complaining about a bit of water on the circuit. 8)
10 seconds!!! D'oh!
You won't find these fellas complaining about a bit of water on the circuit.
I bet they don't have intermediates on those.
Nice line there from the little water-sweeping truck...
love the Mercedes marquees on the pit lane
I do think Hamilton is a bit rash, but it would have been pretty boring so far without him
Kobayashi is in a stellar position. Rubbish race so far, but if Kamui is any good in the wet the 2nd half will be exciting.

Hmmmm. You have a point, but I definitely don't agree with it!
These guys are the best of the best, they should be able to keep it on the track, they should be able to deal with the conditions.
F1 cars of years gone by were slower, but they were harder to drive too! Manual gear changes in most cars til about 93, and much more grunty engines if not quite the peak top speeds. They also used to have "monsoon" condition tyres available to them too, for conditions such as today!
Health and safety is very important indeed, but I'm not convinced it should intervene so much in wet weather. After all, overall speeds are much lower, so though the probability of an accident is higher, the consequences will be lower as a result of lower speeds.
Put it this way, if I was Vettel, I'd stop my whining over the radio, take a hint off Rihanna and "shut up and drive"!!!
yep, I'm hoping Kobayashi can do well here
could Button have been a little sneaky there (Hamilton incident)? I think he could have been.
Think they need to start racing soon, people have paid to sit there in the rain and a GP race in rain is an amazing spectacle
not looking good for a continuation....
MrsMM has just suggested that, given the amount of water on the track, they resolve it by a game of Pooh Sticks around the hairpin 🙂

😀
they could use the cars
A little something to help pass the time.

Should, but they can't.
Someone also needs to make the call about safety. I remember Rossi making the decision a few years ago. There will always be some loon who'll want to continue.
rare thing that Schumacher isn't the biggest **** on the circuit, well done Lewis.
So I'm told, this point is being made on that twitter thing:
"My road car works in the rain, my street doesn't flood, why can't we go racing?"
These guys are the best drivers in the world. They should be able to make a balance between speed and survival. They shouldn't need mollycoddling, and Vettel moaning like a kid is frankly shameful for someone of his apparent ability. He also has previous on this in other races where he was hoping for a race he was winning to be red flagged, when Hamilton and co wanted to just get on with it.

She wrote another song that might be relevant here. Can't remember for the life of me what it's called, but it has the word "Umbrella" in it I think.

Especially when you consider Schumacher has the huge advantage of being German 😉
It's easy for us to say "MTFU", but how many of us would fill our shreddies trying to drive a 600kg, 800bhp RWD car around a soggy track? I would...
Maybe an argument for bringing traction control and ABS back though?
Blimey why is there so much anger and abuse towards Hamilton and other drivers - people make mistakes, choices which don't fit in with out view of life but throwing abuse at them is just childish!

They're all racists 😆

New here?

It's because he's black.
I am loving the way DC and Brundle are just reduced to talking bollocks. For half an hour.
They're all racists
Not at the moment, they're not.
It is very generous of Lewis to stay and help the team are he embarrassed himself, sure he can wait to spend that £million + he earns for each race
Question: Is there / has there ever been, any openly gay F1 drivers??
overall speeds are much lower
Average lap speeds might be lower, but they're still hitting very similar speeds entering the braking zones.
This 'I'm harder than you' chat between Brundle & Coultard is wearing a bit thin
Still, rain and people eating biscuits in glorious High Definition, top Sunday nigh entertainment 😐
Because of course the English are soo lovely...
Have you had a Sense of Humourectomy?
Just as an aside, Elfin does have a point...the English seem to have a massive chip on their shoulder about anything German (or French for that matter). Schumacher is the most successful driver in F1 history, yes he's German, now can we please get over the latter fact?
Rant over.
Have you had a Sense of Humourectomy?
No, have you? 😉 Love the irony...
I just thought, if we were playing 'negative national stereotypes', it only fair to involve my own nation too....
they can't race as the cars turn into boats in rain like this. aqua planing, no steering, no braking. Impossible to drive.
how long before they think about calling it off?
I get sick of the German bashing actually. The whole WW2 things seems to be more significant to us than it does to them these days. It's been 70 years...
That said, MS is still a ****
Yay!
Cake!!!
It's almost as exciting as cricket, now. They're having cups of tea and cake! 🙂

The number of German cars you see on the roads in England is just one example which would suggest otherwise. Just a little banter. I was kind of thinking about the Blackadder line when I made that comment. Nothing to get too excited about.
Is that the 'Edinburgh Defence', by any chance? 😉
Bit of 'banter' is fine. As long as you can take what you dish out, eh?
I do find it amusing that I did exactly the same as you, yet I'm the one with the apparent 'sense of humour failure'... 😀
Banter? Next time England play Germany at football, just pick up a copy of The Sun.
Banter?
I was referring to my comment. Didn't mean to offend anyone.
Is that the 'Edinburgh Defence', by any chance?
No.
Didn't mean to offend anyone.
Ah, the Duke of Edinburgh Defence! 😆
Back on track. There's a serious chance they may cancel the Antiques Roadshow if this goes on. The rain isn't all bad.
You have to hand it to the commentators for being able to talk non-stop for hours when no cars are moving.
I enjoy Antiques Roadshow?
Who don't like it up 'em?
cancelling Antiques Roadshow is less likely than cancelling the Queen's Speech i'd have thought!
Who don't like it up 'em?
We're not allowed to mention the war.
Special red safety car! 😀
I hope Ted's trousers dry out.
'Race car' spells 'race car' backwards!
Brundle is on fire today...
surely with ice hockey being the national sport they should be able to lay their hands on some of those machines they use for cleaning the rink for shifting the water.
That George Lucas is a bit short, isn't he?
why are they talking to George Lucas?
'cos they've run out of things to talk about
