Not to worry - rumoured they've got a nice sensible chap lined up as a possible replacement for Helmut!... 🤣🤣🤣

So for this weekend...

• Flexi gubbins are banned (again!)...
https://the-race.com/formula-1/everything-you-need-to-know-about-f1s-wing-rules-clampdown/

• Alpha Tauri will become a Red Bull...
https://www.planetf1.com/news/alphatauri-introducing-red-bull-concept-singapore-grand-prix/

• Massa's lawyers really lose the plot! 🙂 ...
https://www.planetf1.com/news/felipe-massa-lawyers-lewis-hamilton-support-2008-title/

• And if Massa wins that - Damon Hill should become a 2x World Champion!...
https://www.planetf1.com/news/lewis-hamilton-michael-schumacher-stripped-f1-title/

...and Marko will be handing out Taco's with a cheery smile to everyone in the paddock! 🙂

Wow! Another 'special' livery - how do we know a livery is special when it changes every couple of races!?...

Well, I for one am bowled over by this slightly more black, slightly less orange livery. A truly bold step has been taken here.

I'd be more impressed if they'd have just said "Yeah, we're trying to save weight and less paint means the cars weights 137gm less and we estimate it's worth 0.0008secs a lap".

Ron Dennis would have told them to paint the whole thing and find the weight saving elsewhere!

Lizards everywhere in Singapore including the Red Bull garage - 'Helmut doesn't work for us so we didn't issue a statement about his comments'. Yeah, pull the other one Christian - the bloke who's been overseeing you for years and hiring and firing drivers is nothing to do with the F1 team...

Yeah, smells. But honestly if I was in that situation and "the boss" kept up the same nonsense that Marko does, I'd be making the "move along, nothing to see here" noises as well.

Is a director technically an employee? Bullshit answer anyway from Horner, he wears a red bull uniform and he's standing in your pit box lmao.

Not sure if one of the technical directives have hurt the RB19 or what but they're not looking so good in free practice. Still one more session to get it dialled though ...

Someone is going to be affected. Apparently the tricks used went as far as hiding hinged/sliding devices within blocks of rubber.

So if the flexi wing was their secret weapon is this another undeserved championship.

He’s as salty as hell getting out of his car - the real Max who can’t handle the pressure has entered the building!!!

So Lawson the only Red Bull driver to make it through. My guess is Lawson and Ricciardo driving for AT next year to benchmark Lawson and give him experience, then Lawson taking the 2nd Red Bull seat in 2025 if he can hold his own against DR.

Have Red bull finally run out of sandwiches?

They just aren't flexible anymore 🤣

Got to be suspicious that overnight since the regulation check they've become a Q2 team

Sounds about right, Tsunoda has good moments but isn't consistent enough, plus he is there via Red Bull's partnership with Honda more than their own driver development program

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/hidden-mechanisms-and-concealed-parts-what-triggered-f1s-flexi-wing-clampdown/10518570/

I suspect RB have been force to quickly put some rigid parts on the car while awaiting a properly scoped and designed technical upgrade to supplement their bendy issue.    I’m pretty sure they’ve been called out by drivers already. I remember Lewis saying something like “someone needs to take a close look at thier car” or similar.

it also reads as though Aston acted and took the hit earlier.

I suspect it's more to do with the circuit than the car, in the same way that the Haas has suddenly become amazing. 50p says that Verstappen puts it on pole at Suzuka next week

Yup, The Race are just saying that it’s a setup issue as they can’t run their normal, low, ride height this weekend. Max saying that they could see this coming on the sim and all is good again for Suzuka.

Sadly, as this does appear to be their pace for the weekend, there’s no reason to expect a charge from either of them in the race. Hopefully makes for a good race at the front though, as others try and seize their only chance of a win this season

They can't nominate a stand-in driver after qualifying is finished, apparently. AM will only enter one car for Alonso.

Before the race Horner was saying it’s track specific the issues with the RB but how can it be? Surely there must be combinations of/individual corners at lots of other track that replicate bits of Singapore and they have a ton of data on it? Really interested to see next week in Suzuka and if it is related to this flexi technical directive and therefore going to harm them longer term.

But they knew from sim work it was going to be a problem here, and say the sim work shows it won't be a problem in Suzuka. We shall see.....

it can’t be - cars that dominate in the way the Red Bull has just don’t lose this much pace because of set-up. There have been loads of street circuits this year and they’ve just cruised away.

I doubt it will be as bad in Japan though.

Max is now losing almost a second a lap. If there are no more safety cars they’ll be lucky to finish top 10.

Yeah will be really interesting to see how it pans out in practice. I’m surprised at how much of a fundamental drop in performance it has been from such a dominant car. Perez is dead last just now! 🤣

If only F1 did what touring cars used to do and put more weight in the winning cars to offset the performance to get some equality. Great to see all those cars within 10 secs going for the win almost the entire race. First race I've managed to not fall asleep in front of for ages.

Add concrete (non RAAC) ballast to the top cars (or multiple sandwiches) for parity

Wasn’t this race about Sainz controlling from the front so that others couldn’t undercut him? That’s why it ended up so close.

So, interesting race.
The question is, with the new technical directive, which is true?

1. A track related anomaly, complete coincidence and business as usual next race.

2. RedBull have been hobbled for ‘the show’

3. RedBull have been caught cheating.

I’m not sure which is most depressing.

At one stage, I was hoping for another Ferrari cock up and three Brits on the podium. Sadly wasn't to be...

Yeah, they were discussing it in the sky commentary, 90’s for the brits I think

Edit, clearly not paying attention, last was 1968 for an all British Podium, 1983 for one nationality (French)
