Extending a wooden shed

We have a 6 x 4 pent roof shed thats less than 2 years old and probably should have got a larger one. We had only just moved in and had limited time to really think it through as we needed somewhere to put things like the lawnmower and other garden tools. It's perfect for that but could do with more space to put things like chairs, bbq, etc over winter.

There is space next to the shed if I level the ground so thinking about ways to add something onto it or buying some kind of lean to/log store. It doesn't necessarily need a door since it will just be used as a shelter for a few things.

Has anyone done this? Could it be permanently fixed onto the side of a shed or will that cause more problems?

Why not a 2nd shed?

I built my own shed with sizeable overhangs at each side which are currently open but sheltered from most of the weather. Easy enough to enclosed these areas of needed but I doubt I ever will. Doesn't help you but adding an extension should be easy enough if you can transport the stuff needed from the DIY shop.

I've constructed a 'store' on the side of our summer house. Constructed a frame, then built the walls in 'overlap' timber to match the summer house. It has a door each end and ventilation 'grates'. It's used just for storage and matches the existing shed well, and fits into what was dead space.
