Current car (Seat Leon) has just hit the three year mark. Always serviced on time but starting a new to me job in January so pretty keen for it to not go wrong (or at least not cost £££ to fix) in the next year.

Various aftermarket warranties available as well as genuine Seat option ranging from £250- £600. Car is probably worth 8k, no real reason to change it.

I know there is also a good chance that NOTHING will go wrong in the next year.

Jag driver here - car is 4 years old with 40k on clock. Came with 2 year approved used manufacturers warranty, which I've made good use of, especially in the first year. Took decision 2 months back to extend with manufacturer as figured less haggling that way if something goes wrong. Suspect it will now be OK but happy with my decision for the peace of mind it provides. It won't take long to burn through £600 if something goes pop. Also helps that my local dealer is very good indeed - servicing is expensive but I know job's been done properly, so happy with them doing warranty stuff too if needed. A good dealer (whether main or back street) is hard to find..!
