For a Christmas present for my other half. I got her a few in the last two years and she really enjoyed them. A birds of prey day and Alpacca trecking were the best two. I'm trying to find something a little different. She's an introvert, but enjoys the experience days, loves animals and learning new skills. I'm just a bit out of ideas.

Anyone done any experience days that stood out? We're south of London if that helps.

You could try AirBnB? They do something similar. Search by location and see what comes up.

Anything there? I got a photographic experience day there for my 40th. One of the best days ever.

Try going to a big city you don't know much about:

1) Book a historic walking tour.
2) Wander around doing your own thing armed with your fresh historic knowledge.
3) Get shitfaced.
4) Dine out.
5) Retire to Premier Inn or somesuch.
6) Get a train home.

We went to Liverpool, it was a good experience.

Some zoos do experience days. Either close up with the animals or zoo keeper type stuff.

Depends on how you feel about zoos I suppose

Countryside is better. Cities are too busy for us.

She got me a forgery experience for the two of us and she loved that too. So thinking about that sort of thing too.

@mjsmke was going to suggest a blacksmith course or something woodlands based. How about jewellery making?

As an aside a friend of my mum has designed and run craft and out door learning courses for years. One of which includes butchery. Bare with me. The course starts with you smelting metal, making a knive, etc and ends with you preparing a hide and making it into a piece of clothing. The butchery is a very small part of the whole and is as much about the ethics. Anyway, there are some amazing things out there.

Edit: apologies- just re-read the bit about loves animals. 🤭

Nice. Did you do identity documents or currency?

What about a green woodworking day? They can be quite fun. No animals though.

I thought you'd maybe already been there, but perhaps you mean blacksmithing... how about a foraging course? Though I guess now would be a good time of year for it, and January not so much (could be wrong).

I signed up for a bushcraft course. Make your own tools, shelter etc

Could be an idea?

I think she might like glassblowing. I'll see what I can find.

When I left a job a few years back they got me one of those sports car track day things. May not be her cup of tea, but I loved it.
