If you have a bad joint and wish to exercise it to build up muscle and aid rehab should you do exercises that gently hurt? I.e if twisting left hurts do that gently.
I am using a old inner tube as a resistance band for reference. So a non jerking excise in my mind and one that I can increase and decrease resistance on.
I have a shoulder in recovery ATM I do some muscle exercises to get muscles working properly again but the exercises are designed not to hurt the injuries but work the muscles around them and rehab the area might be worth seeing someone who can advise you what's going to work
If you haven't had some professional direction, I'd get some first. It totally depends on the problem. For example the problem might not be where the pain is. For example in currently dealing with some upper arm pain which is a result of a crash on my collar bone (not broken) last summer. Even just one session with a private physio might be worth it.
Yup - you need professional advice - for some injuries it would be the right thing to do and for some the wrong
Ball I was hoping for a logic or methodology to determine the best results. I will have a hubt around but traveling with work makes appointments very tough.
Definitely get some professional help, I’m rehabilitating a fractured ankle atm, in the space of 5 half hour sessions with a physiotherapist, I’ve went from 1” of up/down movement in my foot, to 95% of full movement.
i found the guy that i used on facebook.
i will say, the pain on my first visit was worse than when i broke the ankle, but the results were amazing.
Some pain is good, some is bad - so what everybody else is saying you need proper professional advice.
Ball I was hoping for a logic or methodology to determine the best results.
Best way to get that is three or four years of study and some practice...
Where are you based or where is your regular traveling? Someone might have a recommendation. If you know you have a few days at home coming up in the next month, see if you can get something booked in. It's worth making the time for.
Where are you based or where is your regular traveling
Based in Ringwood Hampshire travel all over EU and fringes.
Far too south for me. But from a quick Google, this guy looks to have good credentials - HCPC registered and with international sports experience and University lecturing.
