Mrs Shep travels to a lot of meetings via trains and car parks and carries an inordinate amount of gear with her; copious notes, laptop, 2 x phones, handouts etc. She currently uses her handbag and a couple of shoulder bags.

Looking for recommendations for an all in one executive, non 'outdoorsy', backpack with compartments that can take a large laptop and has wheels and a retractable handle.

Thanks in advance.

Look at Samsonite, Antlers, Eagle Creek and Ospreys.

Eagle Creek has the best support imho, it’s lifetime but may not look executive enough

That seems a sensible suggestion and I've seen them increase in popularity lately. However...

'Never Stop Exploring'.

Euston Station or Heathrow is hardly the Arctic tundra. Those little red wheels might struggle in the Tian Shan mountains.

Thanks folks

That TNF one looks ideal for me, although she may deem TNF to be 'outdoorsy'.

Samsonite and Antler look promising and deffo not 'outdoorsy'. Some mixed reviews and wildly varying prices. Osprey and Eagle Creek look well made.

Gate8? Mine Is surving well, and I think there’s a 20% code around. Fine for a couple of hours on the back.

I'd check what's in TKMaxx - never used one myself but colleagues that do seem to rate bigger wheels highly (along with being well constructed otherwise they soon look tatty/break)

My wife has an Osprey Ozone which she likes and it hasn't broken yet (2 years old)

You've not had to wait hours for a delayed service in mid January - makes the artic tundra look like a holiday camp 😉

If you're delayed at Euston get yourself over to St Pancras for an hour. Truly delightful (0% sarcasm)

Having gone through 3 of these in the last 4 years I’ve now gone to a purpose made backpack with suitable compartments for laptop, papers etc.  I have to confess it is something of a revelation, so much easier to navigate busy spaces, and I’ve also realised that pulling the damn things around was causing me back problems I suspect due to being twisted.  These are now much better.

If you can get away from the wheels, then I can recommend this - Wenger Carbon 17. It's like the tardis of backpacks.

Takes a 17" Lenovo Ideapad, a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and a Panasonic Toughbook. All the chargers and a Bluetooth speaker live in the next compartment with room to spare. My Sony RX100 IV sits in the top pocket and the front pocket takes pens, card readers, external HDD and other stuff again, with room to spare...

I have one of those Wenger backpacks. They are great, proper tardis like. I swap it with a Gilson 24 hour tin courier style bag, think that one will out last me.

And if she falls over she wont be able to get upright again with all that on her back.
