Can anyone be bothered recommending one?
I have just spent an hour in the hell hole of an electrical shop listening to auto tune club music whilst trying to concentrate on reading the utter bore of a microwave manual.
I left empty handed and will buy one online,in peace, at home

So anyone have a good one which can roast or steam or whatever it is they do?

Ta

We've had exactly the same model for 15 years. Versatile and faultless.

Panasonic are the kings of the combinaiton oven (microwave & oven in one).

Do you not have an oven for roasting? I got the cheapest one last time, it defrosted stuff.

Just don't get a Samsung.
We did. It's rubbish.

First one didn't work, so got it replaced.
It's really unintuitive to use, so I just tend to hit the start button a few times until I get the time I want on full power.
The beeps are ridiculously loud.
There is something wrong with a cooling fan in the back, so if you use it for more than about 3 mins it gets worryingly hot on the top.
It does look nice though (for a microwave).

Get one with the ability to roast/brown. Not much more expensive and bloody useful if you cater for lots and need a bit more oven space ie Christmas etc.

My parents have the one the omitn recommended, they've had it forever and it just works.

It also has a button called 'Chaos Defrost' which is enough reason alone to own it.

Go on ao.com and buy the cheapest one with sensible buttons rather than a silly spinny dial.

Worked for me.

We've got a Samsung.
No idea how it all works.
Takes repeated button presses just to set the timer.
Horrible thing.

Get a big, heavy one with just a dial or two on the front.

Or a Panasonic, their soldering attempt is rubbish and thus disintegrates the chip thingy.

Amazeballs when it did work though but didn't for long mind.
