The inner glass on my oven door decided to explode the other day.
I'm just fitting the replacement, which has some kind of black trim/coating around the edges, like this:

Which way faces in towards the oven - the glass or the side with the black on it?
TIA!
Pretty sure my replacement had was marked with ‘inside face’. Can check which way its installed later, if no one else pipes up. Though I’m pretty sure the black coating was on the inside of the ove
Is it a single piece of glass? (ours is 2 piece)
On our outer glass, the black surround is on the inside. IE facing into the oven. The inside one is clear all round.
HTH.
It's the inside (nearest the oven) of three layers.
Thanks Z1ppy, just wondered if there's a definitive answer, as the manual doesn't offer one, and I don't want to blow up another one (it's £60 a pop, as it were).
sorry @martinhutch totally forgot about this last night, remembered this morning but failed to check.. will try again tonight!
Cheers - don't worry too much. I made the judgement that if I know the glass is rated to face inwards, but am not sure about the coating around the edges, then I'll just point the glass at it! Didn't explode yesterday, anyway. 🙂
Final got to it @Martinhutch, sorry Just totally distracted by life..
Anyways our indeed has the black coating facing inwards . Can’t see the mark telling me it’s right, but ours shattered a good few years ago, & this one work fine since 🙂
Just looked at mine, the black is on the inside also. Though the glass is readily removable for cleaning and the cooker came with the house so whether it's "right" or not I have no way of knowing.
Oddly, it also has "this way up" on the top. What possible difference could it make if it were upside-down?
Anyways our indeed has the black coating facing inwards .
Cheers!
