I am creating a CSV from Sage and it is dropping the dada from 1 column, sadly this is the stock column so is quite important. It has previously worked.
It shows the column header but no data beneath. What is the problem?
Formatting?
Pretend I know virtually zero about Excel for a minute
It sounds like you are creating the csv file in Sage and then opening it in Excel. If you open the csv file in Notepad (right click, open with, notepad) do you see the data in column 1 ie. before the first comma. This will tell you if the problem lies with Sage not exporting it or with Excel not showing it when you open the file in Excel.
Thank you, the problem is with Sage, it is sending no data, there are only speech marks with nothign between them
then its a sage problem, not an excel problem...
That's a nuisance. I don't have Sage so can't help. Typical causes of this sort of thing though are people adding something like a new stock item but with a restricted character such as a comma or a quotation mark in the name. Ideally that shouldn't break anything but it often does. I would suggest looking at the names of any new stock items added since you last ran it successfully
