Man, that’s bad enough without Whamageddon. I feel your pain.

Am I too late to join in?

Not heard it yet, even after trawling round the shops in Chester last week and eating in several pubs in the last 7 days, so feeling really lucky at the moment 😀

So far so good. I doubt I’ll make it past the work Christmas do on Saturday though

Indeed. 11.53pm last night. On it came. No escape for me.

Still in despite 3 hours in a shopping centre yesterday. That is high risk gaming.

I played Whamageddon Roulette on a 100 mile round trip in the car today.

Got a flash drive with 145 different Christmas tracks of varying persuasions on it, including 2 different versions of that song. Put it on random and even had to suffer Band Aid 3 times but still only got the cover version of Last Christmas once.

Told you I was feeling lucky 😀

^^Bold. Very bold.^^

I gather it had the most momentary appearance on The Archers this evening. I left the kitchen to go and get a forgotten bag of shopping from the car at what must have been that moment!

I live to fight another day.

As of 5.15 yesterday, I'm out.

The Monday ladies in our shop wouldn't really appreciate Trojan Christmas so I have to leave the radio on Shit Christmas fm. Tuned in and I'm OUT. So was the customer we were serving at the time. I told her to come back on Monday and moan.

Right, lived dangerously by going into "only 17 more sleeps" Asda yesterday, but survived. The only supermarket safe haven appears to be Waitrose, so the next 2 weeks could get expensive (financial doping required).

But...  How the hell am I going to manage a trip to the shopping mall for some new strides? Can anyone recommend a high street men's outfitters without piped music?

OUT! Walked into the living room just as an advert for what appeared to be a Best of WHAM! (or sommat) came on and they had to play it in the track rundown before I even knew what was happening.

grrr!

Still in - was out and about yesterday but had headphones in 99% of the time. Have had works Christmas lunch today but a group of us who are all playing agreed on a gentlemen's truce and made sure it wasn't on the Spotify playlist in the office.

But maybe I’m cheating by not listening to the radio stations that play music, and not being in the shops.

So far it's going OK. I had a dentist appointment and was a little concerned about the cheesy radio station they put on, but I escaped unscathed. Back home to Radio 3 now.

I've been lucky so far...

Do cover versions count? Y'know, those really bad session groups so the retailer gets away without paying royalties...

Need clarity.

Survived 20 mins in M&S yesterday, didn't risk going in any other shops though. This evening could be the end of the road, Christmas meal = no escape route, I'll accept my fate and bow out gracefully when the inevitable happens.

Out.

It's my own fault, I got cocky after a lucky shopping trip.

I don't like Xmas songs, the 'Crimbo ****s' in work only seem to like Bing ****ing Cosby so I was sure as long as I stuck to my music streaming and Radio X I'd see this out.

Popped home to have lunch with my Wife, she just started laughing. I hadn't even noticed George and Andrew had 'unleashed the beast' so to speak.

Maybe I was out weeks ago, but I'm completely cheesy Xmas song deaf.

Thought I was out last night when the round table came down our road with their Santa Sleigh, collecting for charity.

Christmas tunes blasting out so crazily loudly I could hear them clearly in the kitchen, at the back of the house, even though the sound was distorting so much.

Then it started, the first bars......

..."Nnnoooooooo!!!!" I shouted, holding my hands to my ears....

....then I realized...

No lyrics! I'd be saved by a karaoke version so I live to listen another day 🙂

BRING IT ON!

Been Pogued, but I don't mind that so much.

Still alive, not been sent to Whamhalla yet, but have to venture into That There Town Place this weekend for some of the Christmas fripperies, so will have to don my Wham-cancelling headphones - you can get those, right?

Arse. I thought I was on to a winner as I work from home and never go into town or listen to the radio, but the Christmas album has started playing at the climbing wall.

Somehow I've managed to hear every christmas song bar Wham! Thought I'd got caught on day 2 but it turned out to be a really crap cover version in Poundland (there with work...) so got away with it.

Suppose it helps that I generally work alone or at least have control of the radio so can limit any chance of exposure I get. It's only dangerous when I go into customer's premises but seeing as most are playing the game too it's surprisingly safe during working hours.

and I'm out.....

Half time music at Guildford City FC vs Molesey FC tonight.

Shit game, only went because son was ball boying (cost me £7 to get in so they could earn £6), cold, wet, and whamageddon'ed on top of it all.

If anyone from GCFC is on here, you played rubbish, even your pen wasn't one and you got what you deserved out of the game.

Not happy.
