It's fairly good from a comedic point of view but there is a bit of anger in the writing imo.
I think one of the two writers is an ex Jehovah's Witness which would probably explain it.
Anyway, not a bad show but hasn't quiet hit its stride yet in the first series, has potential though.
I'm enjoying it. Watched the first three. As it shapes up its good to see that the religion aspect is just a side note, it's really about the family relations.
Watched episodes 1 and 2. It’s a bit ‘one note’ in its humor. And weirdly dated-feeling.
The misanthropic focus of the comedy would be fine for a recurrent sketch. It felt a bit tired after 2 episodes. Unlikely to watch more. Plus, endless ads on All4.
Thought thread was going to be about Haggis and poetry,is dissapoint.
🙃😊
Yeah, watched 1st episode won't be watching anymore, as above it's a one trick pony stretched to a series instead of a single sketch.
Watched the first one, it didn't really grab me nor did I find it that funny. May possibly watch some more, but I think too many Louis Theroux docs about actual whackos has ruined this for me - just seemed very humdrum 😃
I watched the final episode last night and I still think it has potential, hitting it's stride a bit better later on in the series.
That said, I've also been watching What We Do In The Shadows too and that is just superb. EEB's just isn't in the same league as the likes of that.
loved the film/pilot but wasn't able to get into the series for whatever reason, must have another crack at it!That said, I’ve also been watching What We Do In The Shadows too and that is just superb.
